Support my challenge to step up to breast cancer!

Right now, 57 Australians are diagnosed with breast cancer every day.

This August, I am taking part in Step Up to Breast Cancer for the mothers, sisters, daughters, friends and loves ones who are impacted by this devastating disease.

I am doing this to raise funds for National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) to support vital breast cancer research to help save lives.

We’ve come to the end of a momentous month of generosity, support and kms!

Half way

Wednesday 14th Aug
Almost half way through August. 
I’ve surpassed my fundraising goal and kms, and feeling stronger each day. 

Thank you to everyone for the love, support and generous donations so far. 
The community is blessed and I’m sure very grateful. 

We are ticking the kms off and enjoying the beautiful sunny weather on the daily walks. 
The rain is about to set in but we must keep pushing on. 

Definitely stronger together!

Thanks again to everyone for the love and support. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude.   

Shoutout to my sister Ci for encouraging me to take this challenge on. 

We’ve gotten off to a great start!
Thanks Jas for taking on the first walk with me yesterday! 
Ci and I unite this weekend to add some more kms and we look forward to joining forces with Brother Bear next week to tick off some bigger kms!

Just over two weeks to go

Just over two weeks to go before we start logging in our kms. 

We plan to walk most of the kms over the weekends but will also aim to log in some kms during the week. 

Please let me know if you are keen to join in on any of the walks over the weekends of August.

Giving back

Tuesday 2nd Jul
568 days since being diagnosed. 
Words cannot describe the gratitude I feel to be where I am today. 
It’s time to give back and why not use this platform to continue to promote awareness too. 
Awareness is power. 

1 in 7 Australian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, and on average 3 Australian women under 40 are diagnosed every single day. This includes women who are pregnant and/or breastfeeding, whose signs and symptoms are often overlooked for as blocked ducts or hormonal. 

Let’s normalise regular checks. 
Feel it on the First is a great reminder to examine your breasts every month. But remember you should be checking all the time too. 
Both women & men!
And let’s not stop there, regular pap smears and cervical checks as well as prostate checks are vital. The list goes on. 
You know your body best. So don’t keep putting it off. 

Thank you to all who are participating in the fundraiser walks, and for the donations.  

Research brings hope and having hope is everything. 

Put your breast foot forward and rise up!
