Every day since August 2018 I've been walking on Lego, breathing shallow breaths, terrified of every new ache and pain, feeling dreadfully alone, guilt ridden my children have not had the best of me in all that time, paranoid I've bored and alienated my family. Im doing this fundraiser to support the people close to me that have been affected by breast cancer. My Aunty who has now fought it twice, my cousin, my dear friend from school and her mum. Every little bit helps, and if we can research and eradicate this disease, how good would that be :)

I am walking 171 km in memory of my Nonna, Aunty and my friends' loved ones, who lost their fight to breast cancer. And I am walking in support of my family and friends who are currently fighting their own battles against breast cancer.

I have just reached 100km, not far to go! My aunty fought breast cancer and won! She is one of the strongest women I know! I also had a colleague who fought and won the first time, but sadly lost her battle the second time! I’m walking and raising money for the women who have lost their life, fighting for their life and also the amazing people who help fight this terrible disease in the hope of finding a cure!

We have done it, over 114kms for Jess, who is doing incredibly well. Also for my friends, some who have made it, and some who were defeated by this awful disease, thinking of you all the time we walked. We are still walking! Thanks all you lovely people,

For Laura Yammouni who courageous battle ended 14/08/2024. A self named metastatic breast cancer warrior and such a strong advocate for others. Her legacy will live on. "Life rearranged, but spirits high, The strength of a smile in a tear-streaked eye. Pink warrior, you’ve wings to fly, Above the pain, to touch the sky."

I have lost too many of those I love to Cancer, and will do all that I can to keep fighting the fight and raising funds so we can learn more, help more and live more!

Stepping up in memory of my Gran who had breast cancer twice in her lifetime & then the third time she had a different type of cancer. She was such a strong woman. Incredibly caring and loving. Intelligent. Independent. I strive to be half the woman she was.

I'm stepping up especially for all the young mums with breast cancer. When I read that the NBCF has funded over 600+ research projects since their inception and BC death rates have improved over 40% in that time, I couldn't help but think that maybe people's generosity in contributing to this research is reason I'm still here today (as a breast cancer survivor, who was a young mum when diagnosed). I'm doing this challenge to help contribute towards the next evolution of BC research, so that hopefully, we can eventually reach zero deaths from BC.

It runs in my family, so my cousin was not the first person I loved that has been diagnosed/passed away from this illness. It is a cause very close to my heart, so the least I can do is contribute to the cause in any way.

I’m truly overwhelmed at the donations, thank you. I started this challenge to help recover from back injury & get myself walking again. But I have a dear friend who is a breast cancer survivor who lost her mother&sister to it. I myself have been found with some calcification spots & thanks to the tech, we’re keeping an eye on them. Sending strength & positivity to all those on this journey either for themselves or someone they love.

I’m doing this walk for myself, mainly, but also for all women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. I found out just last month that I had cancer in my left breast. It was a big shock. It was discovered due to the amazing technology that we have today and for that I will be forever grateful. I’ve since had surgery and am now waiting to see the oncologist. So in the mean time I thought about keeping up my exercise whilst also raising funds and awareness.

I am doing this for myself and my Mother in law. I was unfortunately diagnosed with breast cancer while pregnant with my second son last year and my husband's Mum unfortunately lost her battle to breast cancer in February. I’m doing this in support of my recently diagnosed cousin. But not only for her, for her sister and their mother (also breast cancer sufferers), my aunt and one of my late beautiful friends. But this one is for you, Carole. I’m way out of my comfort zone so I can’t imagine what you’re going through.

I’m doing this walk not only for my own experience with hormone positive breast cancer but so my daughter in laws and grandchildren may hopefully not need to also go through it.

Living with breast cancer I often think about those that have gone before me, friends also living with it and those being diagnosed. I want nothing more but for everyone with breast cancer to always have hope and research into a cure helps with this.

I have met many people who have gone through breast cancer and are proud survivors. I also know of some people that are currently going through it too. I want to be someone who can step up and make a difference to help these people and many others to get the treatment they deserve and hopefully a cure.

Turning 57 has given me a new perspective. I'm now part of a club that no one wants to join, but I'm determined to make a difference. As a breast cancer survivor, I'm challenging myself to walk 57km to raise awareness, funds, and hope. Together, we can create a world where no one has to face breast cancer alone.

I’m doing this walk in tribute to my sista from another mother Rosemary Winspear whom lost her battle to Breast Cancer last year after a 14 year battle. Also for my dear friends still proudly surviving Shaz (Frog), Mandy, Karen, Dot and recently my friend Pam lost her daughter Kate this year to breast Cancer. When I walk I think of all these brave women. They motivate me to walk and be aware how precious life is.

My WHY is my beautiful Sister Viv who was Diagnosed Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer 5 Years ago. She is living with Cancer everyday and her strength and resilience are so inspiring. Unfortunately, I have also had to sit by and watch as multiple friends of mine have also been given the dreaded diagnoses of some form of Breast Cancer.

I’m going to try and walk 114kms in August to raise funds for Breast Cancer research in support of my Mum, Joy, and my friend Lisa.

I am running 57km for my primary school principal. I remember her battle breast cancer and she was very brave.

On the 25th of January, I was one of the 57 Australians diagnosed with breast cancer. I've undergone surgery and chemo and will soon start hormone therapy. I am walking to raise awareness and funds for this lifesaving research for our future generations. 🙌

Im walking this year for all those 1 in 57 diagnosed with breast cancer as I was also one of those statistics. For all those with a breast cancer diagnosis , be strong, be brave and kick cancers ass!

Hey Team! 20 years ago my Mother defeated Breast Cancer. Now it’s time to take up the fight for my Sister! Breast Cancer has targeted my Mother, Sister, Aunty and Cousin. I can't sit back and be a passenger in this fight. Time to dust off the old joggers yet again. Last year I raised $4,456 for Run for Mental Health in honour of my late Aunty, who lost her mental heath battle to suicide. This year I’ll be running for Breast Cancer in order to get my beautiful Sister across the finish line! Your donation will continue to fund research enabling our fight against Breast Cancer. Though she faced her illness with incredible strength, it never dimmed her radiance. She remained a source of inspiration, showing us what it means to be truly courageous. Her legacy is one of love, resilience, and beauty, both inside and out. We miss her dearly, but her spirit lives on in our hearts. Every time we think of her, we are reminded to be a little kinder, to smile a little brighter, and to love a little deeper. She taught us that beauty is not just seen with the eyes, but felt with the heart. Rest in peace, my dear aunty Sandy. You will forever be our most beautiful angel.

I’m walking to start my journey having been diagnosed last month - and to support all those who touched by this illness.

I am walking and raising funds and awareness for the 1,767 people who will receive the crushing diagnosis of having breast cancer throughout the month of August. Also for my Mum and Sister, for being brave breast cancer survivors.

I am walking to raise awareness and inspire those diagnosed and to support family/friends affected by breast cancer. As well as support one of my closest loved ones, who has just recently been diagnosed. 🩷

On the 2nd of August, 2022, my beautiful friend Anna-Elise Sale lost her battle with Breast Cancer, after a courageous 10 year battle. Anna was a daughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin, friend and wonderful Mum to Luca. A huge loss to all that new and loved her. 57 Australians are diagnosed with breast cancer every day and I am going to ‘Step Up to Breast Cancer’ & walk 57km throughout August to raise funds for vital breast cancer research to help save lives. My aim is to raise $2822 (02/08/22 - Anna’s Anniversary). I understand we are in a ‘cost of living crisis’ and don’t like asking for money, but if enough people are willing to make a small sacrifice eg a cup of coffee, we can do it together. For those thinking that 57km’s is nothing over a month, as a person who suffers daily from multiple invisible illnesses, this is no easy feat. Thank you 🩷

I'm walking 114 km during the month of August in memory of my sister Deb who lost her four year breast cancer battle in February last year.. I'm hoping to raise awareness and funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

I am walking 114 km in the month of August to honour my daughters, mother. and family. My eldest daughter is BRAC positive and currently having treatment for breast cancer and my mum is a breast cancer survivor and a great example since she has had it twice over 36 years. A younger daughter is also BRAC positive. I want to honour these women who are dealing with breast cancer showing strength courage and humility in the midst of it. And also our families for their support too, because it impacts everyone involved.💕

I am walking to support those so many that have been impacted by this. I have a family member and a few friends that have struggled through this differently. I’d love this to raise more awareness and help funding to reduce the impacts in the future.

I’m waking for what could have been my own fight and for all of those who have fought the hard fight!
