This walk is for you, Nan. You are the reason I step up. You faced breast cancer with strength, grace, and courage that still takes my breath away. I watched you hold onto hope through every appointment, every test, and every moment of uncertainty, and somehow, even in the hardest days, you still had room to care for everyone else around you. You lived through it, with your humour, your softness, and your fierce love still intact. You reminded our family where our resilience comes from, not the loud, showy kind, but the quiet power of getting up each day and choosing to fight. I walk this journey with pride, knowing I come from a woman as strong and kind as you. This year, it means even more to me because my sister is stepping up too. Your story is now part of both of us, your strength passed down, your survival our motivation.

Walking is ‘easy’. I have known so many women throughout my life who have been diagnosed, treated, lived with and then 2 who lost the battle - my sister in law- Ratana /Ou and my sister in kind Carolyn. Never forgotten. They lived strong, full and proud in everything they did and were loved by many. In my thoughts everyday 🙏❤️

Sharon
I’m walking for my mum. She was an amazing strong independent woman. She loved her family with her whole heart. She first had breast cancer at 50yrs old. She fought it with bravery and strength. Then at 83 she was diagnosed with a TNBC (triple negative breast cancer) and passed away a week later. Even in her last days she was dignified and caring for those around her. She was an amazing mother a true inspiration. Her heart was full of love and compassion for her family and friends. She had a strong faith in God. She is now at peace.

I want to say im so happy people are getting in on this, to raise awarness and funds for such an important cause. Lets do this, im proud to be apart of this and you should be too! 🌸💕 Im doing this to honour those battling and who have fought the battle, you are amazing. 💕

For My Grandma When I was young, my grandma, one of the strongest and most beautiful people I’ve ever known was diagnosed with breast cancer. Watching her go through that battle was one of the hardest things I’ve ever experienced. She was my safe place, my joy, and my hero. I’m so grateful and lucky that she survived. Her strength, courage, and resilience continue to inspire me every day. I stand with the 58 Australians diagnosed every day, and I honour my grandma’s journey by supporting every step forward in this fight. Let’s step up to breast cancer together, for our loved ones, for our futures, and for hope.

Sandra
My mum beat breast cancer twice, both my grandmothers beat it and there are countless other women who are a part of my life or I've crossed paths with who are battling or have battled against this. The reality is, I could be next. I want to do my part to contribute into a better future for research and treatment so less women lose their lives to breast cancer.

Victoria Pilipasidis
My mum is a survivor - strong, brave, and full of fight. This message is for her, and for every person who’s walked this path. Cancer may leave scars, but it can never take away love, courage, or hope. I love you mum, and I’m so proud of you. Thank you for showing me what true strength looks like.

Bec Hansen
For everyone who is or has fought breast cancer! You've got this!

I pledge to walk 58kms this August for my Mum 🩷
Back in March this year, my beautiful mum became one of the 58 Australians diagnosed with breast cancer every single day. After years of routine screening due to her BRCA2 gene mutation, our worst fears were confirmed. Sadly, this gene runs throughout our extended family, including myself. So this August, I’m pledging to walk 58km - one kilometre for every Australian diagnosed with breast cancer each day. Thanks to the incredible work already being done, the testing and monitoring available today helped Mum catch her diagnosis as early as possible. I can only imagine the impact that continued research will have in improving early detection, treatment options, and outcomes for women in the future. I’m walking to stand beside her, to honour her strength, and to raise funds for breast cancer research. Every step is for Mum, and for the thousands of others on this journey. 💕

Jay-lee
This August I am walking 116km. 58km for myself and 58km for my mum. We have both benefited from the research and advancements in treatment options. Without these advancements our outcomes our prognosis’s may have been very different.

Sheri
For everyone who is or has fought breast cancer! You've got this!

Cary Rossetti
My heartfelt gratitude to the incredible surgeons, doctors, nurses, and support team members who stand with us every step of the breast cancer journey. Your unwavering dedication, compassion, and expertise give hope and strength to those facing this challenge. Without you, the possibility of recovery, remission, or becoming a survivor would not be possible. May your continued work be guided by ongoing research and innovation, inspiring brighter futures for all those affected.

For the most beautiful women who we all love forever

Cassandra

I will be walking again this August for all breast cancer survivors and any who are going through the treatment.

I’m sure everyone out there know someone who has suffered from some form of cancer,I know a couple of people who have got breast cancer and are still fighting.if our money raised helps towards finding a cure, then they are closer to finding cures for all cancers.my mother died from lung cancer 20+ years ago,my niece 34 with a 4 year old son died 3 years ago from cancer so like i said, this is for breast cancer research but hopefully all cancer research will benefit.

Laura
My incredible mum is a two-time breast cancer survivor - and every kilometre I walk is for her.

Sue Buick
I've lost family and cared for two close friends during their last days. I've also been lucky enough to be diagnosed with RCC and 5 years on I'm completely clear due to advances made in this field. Let's raise some funds to rid more of this horrible disease.

Tracey Snell
Walking to raise money for this important cause. I was diagnosed last Dec with TNBC, this meant aggressive treatment. I’m lucky to report that it worked and I received a PCR post surgery. I would like to raise money for all those who need other options, especially with my type of BC.

Angie
I am one of the lucky ones. On Valentines Day 2020, I had a biopsy done after my biannual mammogram showed an abnormality. 4 days later I was given the news I had ER/PR positive breadt cancer in my left breast. I had no symptoms, so the news came as a shock. In that time, I found out my oldest sister had been diagnosed 2 weeks before me. It was just as COVID was getting more serious. I was lucky, because mine was caught so early, I had choices about my treatment. I was lucky because, I had the choice not to do chemo. I was lucky, because it had not got into my lymph nodes. I was lucky because my surgeon got it all. Yes, I was lucky. My message, is make sure you have check ups regularly. If you have concerns, get yourself checked.

Breast cancer is something that hits close to home for me as it’s affected my family and people I care deeply about.

Ainsley
