Support my challenge to step up to breast cancer!
Right now, 58 people in Australia are diagnosed with breast cancer every day. Last September, I was one of those 58.
Since then I have had 12 rounds of chemo, a double mastectomy, a lymph node clearance and 15 rounds of radiation therapy. I am scheduled to have my ovaries removed in September and will be on medication for the next 10+ years.
All of this has been scary, but with my amazing support network and knowing the alternative (cancer winning), it has made each day a little easier.
I am hoping that as I start to heal from my treatment, I can also start to improve my health. And what better way than a breast cancer fundraiser?! I am going to walk 58kms for the month of August in the hope to improve the outcomes for the 58 Australians diagnosed with breast cancer each day.
