Frontline Goes Pink

So I'm putting my hand up to make a difference, and I would like you to help support the cause.

We all know someone whose life has been affected by breast cancer, it is an all too familiar story these days. For me, it is my beautiful mother, Mary. She was diagnosed with breast cancer last December, with her first treatment 2 days before Christmas.  From that first treatment to her last treatment on the 2nd of April, her positivity and fighting spirit has been an inspiration to us, her family. You feel helpless as you can only support from the sidelines, watching as the treatment takes effect.

Well, my mum persevered and fought through it all, and as of last Friday 3rd of July, she is cancer free. She stayed strong through the worst of it. That's why I've decided to shave my head for the first time in my 50 years of life. As a tribute to the courage my mother showed us all. And for those of you that know me well, I do pride myself on my good head of hair, so it's a pretty big deal!! 

It is an honor and a privilege to be part of the Frontline team on every other day, especially to be part of this fundraiser.

As part of the handover of their new Pink Fire Appliance to Hancock Iron Ore, the team is raising funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). I wanted to do my part to support this cause.

So that's why I'll be shaving my head to help raise awareness and support the incredible research being funded by NBCF. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps bring us one step closer to a future with zero deaths from breast cancer.
