Support my challenge to step up to breast cancer!

Right now, 57 Australians are diagnosed with breast cancer every day.

This August, I am taking part in Step Up to Breast Cancer for the mothers, sisters, daughters, friends and loves ones who are impacted by this devastating disease.

I am doing this to raise funds for National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) to support vital breast cancer research to help save lives.

Tuesday 27th Aug
Oh baby! What a feeling. 115km completed in 27 days, with 4 days to spare, I’m such a bad ass, I know! This run was probably one of my worse runs, nothing like starting back at the gym and my body just being so bloody tired. Just over $2’500 raised. A lot of people have asked me if I will continue running and yes I will, hopefully one day I will enjoy it hahahah! But I’ll probably run 3km a day not 5 EVERY DAY PEACE!

Sunday 25th Aug
The best moment of doing this has been having my 3 year old niece ask me if I was going for my run yet as she got to go on the motorbike with my dad, for me to tell her I’m just trying to pump myself up to do the run which she replied “ well, where is your pump”. Second time this month running without music and I’m defs not a fan, beats are ruined and I left my AirPods in Coonamble. I just have to tell myself to think happy thoughts as I can hear my own breathing instead of the music hahaha. The pink socks are my mums favourite socks which I thought was fitting to wear them for her as I haven’t worn pink at all this month while running

Day 24 - Nearly there!

Saturday 24th Aug
I’ve been in my home town of Coonamble for the week, running in the morning has definitely not been my strong point. My dad has been my support crew for the week hahaha! Who has indeed told me I’m not running as fast as I think I am but always has the water around when I’m half way through and needed a fresher

Day 21 - Week 3 check in

Wednesday 21st Aug
85km down and over $2’000 raised I thought it would of been easier by now, it doesn’t seem to be no matter how many times I tell myself I love running it’s just not sticking hahaha maybe by day 31 when I start to run in the mornings again My excuse today is I think I’m sick but I just didn’t want to admit it. Got to 5km today even if I did have to walk and run from 2km onwards

Sunday 18th Aug
Nearly 2/3 of the way, 72.5km down 41.5km to go. With $1’775 raised My average pace is sitting at 7’50” for today, only ran 4km but improved on my average, just gotta keep that pace for an extra km

Wednesday 14th Aug
SHE WAS A WET ONE! 3.5km short of being half way through my km. 53.5km down, 60.5km to go. I finally got to 5km on day 12, it was slow but we got there. I have decided, I’m not an afternoon runner, if I don’t run in the morning, I struggle to run in the afternoon. I have nearly raised $1’700, thank you so much to everyone that has donated xx

Day 11 - new PB

Sunday 11th Aug
I think I have found the spot I would like to run the rest of the month. I have picked a different running spot or way each day of the month so far. But today I have found my favourite as it just seemed to be so easy. I did a total of 4.37km in 37 minutes with only walking 150m at the start to warm up my legs. New bloody PB. Going to do the same run tomorrow after the gym to see if it’s the place I’ll be going for the rest of the month and hopefully can get closer to 5km

Day 7 check in

Wednesday 7th Aug
Day 7 check in - New PB of 4km in 33.26 minutes with a beautiful 2 degrees. Got to 3.25km without stopping for a breather. We are slowly but surely getting closer to my goal of 5km without stopping ? Got a few weird looks when I started running with a t shirt and bike shorts, I had already done my warm up at boxing beforehand. 25km down ?? and have raised $1395 ??

Today I walked/ran 4km in 35 minutes, my end goal is to be able to run 5km straight without stopping in 30minutes by the end of the month
