Right now, 58 people in Australia are diagnosed with breast cancer every day.

This August, I am taking part in Step Up to Breast Cancer for the mothers, sisters, daughters, friends and loves ones who are impacted by this devastating disease.

I am doing this to raise funds for National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) to support vital breast cancer research to help save lives.

Day 24 - 120km. FINISHED!!!

We are done! WOW! It was a big 24 days. I set a goal to run 5km every day, some days were very slow taking nearly 45 minute to complete the 5km and other days just seemed so much easier with a new PB under 37 minutes. I have achieved so many goals this year for myself personally, running everyday has been easier with being nearly 20kg lighter, to also finish 3-4 days earlier then what I did last year. Last year I had the mind set that I was going to run the last few days of August to see where I ended up but once I reached my goal I completely lost interested. This year I plan to push out to at least day 30 even maybe 31 ????? The pain my body has felt this month is nothing compared to what I seen my mum go through over her 18 months of treatment Yaz ???

My Reason Why

Friday 1st Aug
On the 30th of July, my mum completed her final round of chemo. After 18 months of fighting cancer, it’s finally over — and she’s been an absolute badass through it all. Her strength and resilience throughout these long months have inspired me to once again raise funds for breast cancer research.

From the first of August, I’ll be running 116km throughout August to support the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). My goal is to raise $500, and I’m already at $357 — so close! My running has been pretty slack since last year’s challenge, so be warned: there’ll be more complaining than usual.

Why 116km? Right now, 58 people are diagnosed with breast cancer every day in Australia. I’m running to help fund the research that saves lives. And thought I’m going to double this! 

And ladies, please check your girls. Breast cancer can show up in unexpected ways — even something as small as a rash could be a sign. Be aware, get checked, and look after yourselves.
