Beauty Queens Touch

By Vera DEAN

I'm now a Pink Hero

Did you know that every day 56 people in Australia are diagnosed with breast cancer and 9 people in Australia die every day from this disease?

I've decided to host an event and raise funds for world-class breast cancer research to help National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) towards their vision of Zero Deaths from breast cancer.

Please support me and my pledge to save lives and make a difference.

Every donation, big or small, will get me closer to reaching my goal. Together, we can stop deaths from breast cancer.

Why We Stand with the National Breast Cancer Foundation

At Start Up Women's Touch Rugby Team, Miss Cook Islands of Australia Association, and Mana Modelling Agency, our support for the National Breast Cancer Foundation is far more than a partnership—it is deeply personal.

We proudly dedicate our fundraising efforts, awareness campaigns, and community support to the loving memory of my beautiful sister, Dorothy Ngaata-Napa, whose life was taken far too soon by breast cancer.

Dorothy's strength, kindness, and unwavering love continue to inspire us every day. Although she is no longer with us, her legacy lives on through every event we organise, every dollar we raise, and every conversation we encourage about early detection and breast cancer research.

We also honour every mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, aunt, friend, and loved one who has courageously battled this devastating disease. To those who have lost their lives, we remember you with love. To those still fighting, we stand beside you with hope. To the survivors, you inspire us with your courage.

Our organisations are committed to using our platforms to make a meaningful difference.

Whether it is our athletes taking the field, our pageant contestants serving their communities, or our models walking the runway, we believe every opportunity is a chance to raise awareness, educate others, and contribute to life-saving breast cancer research.

Together, we believe that compassion, community, and action can help create a future where fewer families experience the heartbreak that ours has endured.

This mission is especially close to our hearts. Our current Miss Peace Cook Islands 2026, Mia Napa, also proudly supports the National Breast Cancer Foundation in memory of her beloved grandmother, who also passed away from breast cancer. Her dedication reminds us that behind every statistic is a family whose lives have been forever changed.

To everyone who has supported our fundraising efforts, attended our events, donated, shared our message, or simply worn pink in solidarity—thank you. Your kindness brings hope to countless families.

In loving memory of Dorothy Ngaata-Napa, and in honour of every life touched by breast cancer, we will continue to stand together, raise awareness, and support the vital work of the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Because together, we can help create a future with zero deaths from breast cancer.

With love, hope, and remembrance,
