Right now, 56 people in Australia are diagnosed with breast cancer every day.

This August, I am taking part in Step Up to Breast Cancer for the mothers, sisters, daughters, friends and loves ones who are impacted by this devastating disease.

I am doing this to raise funds for National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) to support vital breast cancer research to help save lives.

Monday 31st Aug
Before breast cancer touches your life, it’s something you hear about. Something that happens to other people. And then one day, it’s you. Or your mum. Your sister. Your daughter. Your best friend. Someone you love. And suddenly it becomes very, very real. One of the things I’ve realised is just how many people have a breast cancer story. Far too many of us have been touched by it in some way. That’s a big part of why I’ve been putting one foot in front of the other and walking these kilometres. I’m so incredibly close to reaching my fundraising target now, and I’d be forever grateful if you could help me get over that line. And genuinely, $5 is enough. Please don’t ever think a small donation doesn’t matter. Because when lots of people give a little, it becomes something pretty bloody powerful. Every dollar raised helps contribute to research and a future where treatments are better, outcomes are better, and more people get to call themselves survivors. A future where more mums get to watch their kids grow up. Where families get more birthdays, more Christmases, more ordinary Mondays together. And where hopefully fewer families have to experience the heartbreak of losing someone they love to this disease. I’m incredibly grateful that I get to walk these kilometres. So I’ll keep putting one foot in front of the other, and if you can spare $5 to walk alongside me in your own little way, it would mean more than you probably realise. 🩷 Every kilometre counts. Today’s walk wasn’t really about the kilometres. ❤️ My beautiful business friend Barbara joined me today, and somewhere between putting one foot in front of the other, talking about business, life and everything in between… there may have been a few tears shed. Okay, there definitely were. 🥹 It reminded me that sometimes it really is the little things that count. Someone showing up. Someone walking beside you. Someone listening without needing to fix anything. Just having the right person next to you when you need them. We spend so much of life focused on where we’re going, what we’re achieving and what’s next, but today was a reminder that who you have beside you along the way matters just as much as where you’re headed. Thank you for the walk, the chat, the laughs and the tears, Barbara. ❤️ The kilometres counted today… but the company counted to me so much more.

Another day, a few more kms done, and a little more money raised for breast cancer research 🩷 It’s pretty crazy to think that around 56 people in Australia are diagnosed with breast cancer every single day. That’s 56 people whose lives suddenly change, along with the lives of everyone who loves them. Having been on the receiving end of those words myself, this one will always be personal for me. I was lucky. I’m still here, and I get to put one foot in front of the other and do something, even if it’s small, to help the next person who finds themselves joining a club none of us ever wanted to be part of. So, more kms it is. For the people going through it now, the ones who’ve come out the other side, and especially the ones who should still be here. 🩷 Every little bit counts. And of course… Fuck Fred. 🖕🩷
