Support my challenge to step up to breast cancer!

As a Veterinary Nurse, through consultations I meet my patients owners who I get to know, owners who are going through harsh chemotherapy & double mastectomy surgeries.

This August, I am taking part in Step Up to Breast Cancer for them and for the mothers, sisters, daughters, friends, loved ones who are impacted by this devastating disease. Donations will go to support vital breast cancer research to help save lives.

Thank you for your support.

My why.

Thursday 31st Jul

I stopped going for regular walks when my beautiful dog of 13 years passed away a year ago. Walking was a reminder of what I had lost & that I would be going for walk alone and without my furry bestie. But I’m challenging myself to go for regular walks to support this cause & the women going through this tough battle..

Though I may not be personally affected by this terrible disease, I see how vulnerable and scared these women are preparing to go through the battle. But I am also in awe of how strong and courageous they are, even if they don’t feel like they are in this moment.

As someone who has endometriosis, has had 2 major surgeries myself, and had to battle through some really tough times on a daily basis, I can sympathise with how they are feeling, the surgery is the easy part. It’s the recovery, follow-up appointments, feeling like your losing yourself to the disease and the mental stress every single day - which is the harder battle and I want to give them some more support.

For me, this is the best way aside from checking up on them during our revisit consults in clinic!

I am stepping up to walk 58km to support breast cancer research and save lives.
