I'VE PLEDGED TO STEP UP FOR My mother, Deborah

When i was in high school (2008) my mum broke the news that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Not long after she had an operation to remove 12 lymph noads followed by 6 long weeks of radiation and 6 rounds of chemotherapy. She stayed so strong and positive throughout all of it with the family by her side x Everything started looking up day by day and she became stronger. 10 years in remission and then got another lot of bad news. She is now battling cancer again, this time pleural mesothelioma (the lining of her lung) Unfortunately she has been told she is terminal. Since the diagnosis she is on a trial medication that has stopped the growth to give her as much time as possible. She is our rock and while her children & grandchildren are keeping her on her toes she seems to be pretty strong. Cancer is a horrible thing!

This August, I am taking part in Step Up to Breast Cancer for the mothers, sisters, daughters, friends and loves ones who are impacted by this devastating disease.

I am doing this to raise funds for National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) to support vital breast cancer research to help save lives.
