We are trying to fundraise $20,000 to help support the National Breast Cancer Foundation towards their vision of Zero Deaths from breast cancer , using our program preparing for this year’s Bluewater Series culminating in the Sydney to Hobart race in our 48 foot Swan yacht, Sumatra.

Sumatra isn’t just our yacht; she’s an ocean-going vessel of hope and inspiration. As we tackle the legendary Sydney to Hobart race, we’re not just navigating the oceans; we’re championing the incredible resilience of those who’ve faced profound health battles and have emerged with courage.

At the heart of our journey is my co-owner Shane, whose triumph over a heart transplant and two battles with cancer shows the strength of the human spirit.

Through Sumatra’s first program of ocean racing we’re raising funds for the St Vincent’s Curran’s Institute for heart transplant research, the Breast Cancer Foundation in memory of my mother and my best friend—both of whom we lost within six months of each other in 2012 (every day 58 people in Australia are diagnosed with breast cancer and 9 Australians die every day from this disease), and the Shake It Up Foundation to fight Parkinson’s, the disease that took my father.  Over 200,000 Australians have Parkinson's and someone is diagnosed in Australia every 38 minutes.

With every ocean mile we sail, we’re shining a light on these causes that mean the world to us.   Alongside our crew of dear friends, we’re sailing with love, passion, and a shared commitment to making a difference.   Sumatra is our beacon of resilience, turning every wave into a chance to raise both awareness and funds for these important battles.

If you can, please help by fundraising alongside us in Sumatra.

If fundraising is not your thing then you can also help by making a donation through our team's page.  It only takes a minute and any money you can give (no matter how large or small) will go a long way to helping us reach our target.
100% of all donations to Shake It Up go directly to Australian research, thanks to their founding directors commitment to cover all charity administration costs.

Thank you, we really appreciate your support.
