I am stepping up to breast cancer in support of my friend Emma Kazemi-Gough
July 26 marked the first spiritual birthday of my lifelong friend, Emma.
We met when I was just four years old, and from the very beginning, Emma was this fiery, supportive, and deeply loving soul — a woman with a heart of pure gold.
In March 2024, she was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal breast cancer. But Emma didn’t walk that path alone — she gathered a spiritual army around her, lifting her through the hardest moments with love, faith, and community. She faced her illness with extraordinary grace, resilience, and the unshakeable love of her family and friends.
On March 19, Emma transitioned to the spiritual world. She leaves behind a legacy not only in the memories we hold — but in the love she gave so freely, in the strength she modelled so beautifully, and in her husband and two precious boys who carry her light forward.
This fundraising effort is my way of honouring Emma — her courage, her joy, her fight — and to help ensure others have more hope, more time, and more support in their own journeys.
