You've all blown me away!!! From me, my son, my family and my amazing nan, thank you!!!! I have the happiest, most emotional ugly tears right now!!!
My nan in the last few weeks has been diagnosed with stage four breast cancer, spreading into her gastric system and spine. We have been told we may have 12 months left with her, my son who’s 4 in June adores his nan-nan and I’ve always been so blessed with the love she’s given him and the grace and knowledge she passes down to him and I both. The cancer my nan has goes undetected in a mammogram and wasn’t picked up until us started to effect her stomach. Heart broken isn’t the word to explain how I feel about the future without this warrior of a woman in my life, she’s taught me how to be gracious and bring out my fire all in one. I can never express to you how much your support of this cause will mean to me and my family. Please help us raise the funds we need so no more kids lose their nan-nans to breast cancer. Once we hit $500 I’ll dye my hair pink and I’ll up my goal.
Thank you all.
Much love from me and my little man on behalf of my beloved nan.
I've made a pledge to GO PINK!
This June, the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) is challenging all Australians to make a pledge and GO PINK to raise funds in support of the thousands of women and men whose lives have been - and will be - impacted by breast cancer.
I've made a pledge to WEAR IT, SHAVE IT or COLOUR IT and raise funds for game-changing research into early detection and preventative treatments for breast cancer, which is vital to increasing survival rates.
Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia. Almost 20,000 women and men will be diagnosed this year. That’s 53 Australians every single day. Since NBCF’s inception in 1994, the five-year survival rate for breast cancer has increased from 76% to 91%. It’s proof that their strategy of investing in world-class research is working. However 8 women still lose their lives from breast cancer each day – mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts and friends.
Please donate to my page and you’ll be helping the National Breast Cancer Foundation step closer to their goal: zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030.
YOU can make a difference. Let me know if you want to GO PINK with me!
