I'VE PLEDGED TO STEP UP FOR Grandma, Kell & Tahlia

Never been one to do this sort of thing but here we are. Cancer has been a word used often in my family over the last 3 years. In 2023 my Poppa George lost his life after a 13 month battle with brain cancer. During Poppas battle his wife and my Grandma was diagnosed with breast cancer. She battled this disease while caring for poppa and keeping their ship afloat- inspiring. In early 2024 my step Mum Kelly was diagnosed with breast cancer. As you can imagine this rocked our family. But it didn’t stop there. Earlier this year my step sister, who is only 32 years old was diagnosed with invasive Ductal Carcinoma as well as Inflammatory breast cancer- which is a rare, aggressive and fast spreading form of cancer. These 3 women are my why. So over the next month I will be running to raise money and awareness for the national breast cancer foundation. My goal is to reach a total of 150km and raise $500. My motivation for running has been low lately so I’m posting to keep myself accountable and hopefully inspire others to move their body, because what a privilege it is to be healthy enough to do so. I know times are tough and money is tight but I’d appreciate any big or small donation

Right now, 58 people in Australia are diagnosed with breast cancer every day.

This August, I am taking part in Step Up to Breast Cancer for the mothers, sisters, daughters, friends and loves ones who are impacted by this devastating disease.

I am doing this to raise funds for National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) to support vital breast cancer research to help save lives.
