Support my challenge to step up to breast cancer

Right now, 58 people in Australia are diagnosed with breast cancer every day, this was me in June 2023. 

This August, I am taking part in Step Up to Breast Cancer for the mothers, sisters, daughters, friends and loved ones who are impacted by this devastating disease. 

I am doing this to raise funds for National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) to support vital breast cancer research to help save lives.

Day 31 - Local walk & Rotto

Sunday 31st Aug
Today I had 6km to walk to finish my 58km in August. I started with a local park walk, followed by a walk to Bathurst Lighthouse on Rotto, then finished my kilometers with Molly at my local park this afternoon in the sun - yay, 58km to Step Up To Breast Cancer complete! 
I started out by wanting to raise awareness about Breast Cancer, to walk for those who can't and to raise money for breast cancer research. This month I have been humbled by the stories shared and for the support and kind donations I have received. Thank you X

Day 30 - Walk along the coast from Trigg

Saturday 30th Aug
A beautiful, long (6.9km!) sunny morning walk with Joanna north from Trigg today. Lovely to feel the sun on my skin and to not be wrapped up in layers but in a t-shirt (my hot pink Step Up to Breast Cancer t-shirt - you couldn't miss me today!) 
Lovely 'reward' brunch to follow.

Days 25-29 Short dog walks, then here comes the sun...

Saturday 30th Aug
Over the past few days, I've only done short Molly walks as I have been recovering from the flu. 
Today I got home after the Athletics Carnival, put my runners on and set out for a slow 4.5km in the sunshine down to my local park. Love the gum trees, so lovely to feel the sun. It's getting lighter. too, summer is coming...! 

Day 24 - Stormy Lancelin

Sunday 24th Aug
It's been a while, I've been unwell. I got out for a short 1km walk today to get the legs moving again. Its been a wintry day at Lancelin: windy, big swells and stormy rain clouds coming through all day. Tucked up inside with the pot belly fire now!

Day 16 - Rotto

Saturday 16th Aug
Started today with a sunny, cold walk from South Thompson Bay to the lighthouse. So nice to be ‘overseas’ on a sunny winters day at Rotto! Quokkas and joeys everywhere. 

Day 9 - August 9 Trigg coastal walk

Saturday 9th Aug
A morning meetup for a wet 8.5km walk with Joanna at Trigg heading north along the coast. I love walking by the ocean, it's so good for my soul. 'Reward' brunch followed; a lovely way to spend Saturday morning.

Day 8 - 8 August Local sunrise walk

Saturday 9th Aug
Up early today, so Molly had a sunrise wander with a stunning pink sky at our local ovals. Conference today, a wet day, but managed to dodge the showers for a 2km local street walk at the end of the day.

Day 7 - Mrs Herberts Park

Saturday 9th Aug
Day 6 no walk (student conference and NAIDOC Art opening).
Day 7 2km walk in Claremont before school along to Mrs Herbert's Park, then along the Swan River and back up to school. A lovely way to start the day!

Day 5 - 5 August - local walk, Molly helped

Tuesday 5th Aug
Walked around my local streets today for 3km this afternoon, then Molly 'helped' as she went on a snoof walk up the street too.

Day 4-4 August Claremont, Swan River

Tuesday 5th Aug
Walked before work in Claremont; luckily the rain co-operated and stayed away for my 2km walk. The last part is a lovely section along the Swan River, shared with a pelican. Lovely to be in nature.

Day 3 Sunday 3 August

Tuesday 5th Aug
Wild weather today - rain, storms, wind. I don't think I'd get out for a walk, but the rain cleared and I managed to squeeze 1 1km at my local park between showers!

Day 2 - 2 August, Windy Lancelin

Sunday 3rd Aug
A windy, wettish 3km walk today along the coast at Lancelin for Day 2.

Saturday 2nd Aug
Walked along the Swan River, Claremont jetty was very peaceful. Feeling good, walked 3.2km!
