I’m Running 58km for the Breast Cancer research ?
Next month, I’m taking on the challenge of running 58km to raise much needed funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, an organisation dedicated to funding life-changing breast cancer research.
This cause is incredibly personal to me. The most special woman in my life carries the BRCA1 gene—my beautiful mum ?
This significantly increases my families risk of developing breast and ovarian cancer. I’m running for my family, past, present, and future and for the hope of a future where zero deaths from breast cancer is a reality.
? 1 in 7 women in Australia will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.
? On average, 9 Australians lose their life every day to the disease.
? Around 80% of breast cancer cases occur in women over 50, but it can affect women of all ages — and men too.
? People with a BRCA1 gene mutation have up to a 72% lifetime risk of developing breast cancer.
This isn’t just a statistic, it’s women in all of our lives.
Every dollar raised goes directly towards research, prevention, and support.
