I'm now a Pink Hero
Hello there!
My name is Gabrielle Dewar and I am a Film and TV studying at JMC Academy. This semester, I am raising funds to support the production of my short film "Yuna's Comet". The story follows Yuna, a depressed astronomy student struggling with the grief of losing her mother to Breast Cancer.
Through out my life, I have seen the ways cancer can affected my friends, my family and their loved ones. In 2024, I shaved my head for blood cancer awareness, dedicating my shave to loved ones who have been lost and raising almost 3,000$ for Worlds Greatest Shave. Through telling Yuna's story, I hope to raise awareness for breast cancer, as 15% OF ALL FUNDS RAISED for the film will be donated to the NATIONAL BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION.
Yuna's story has the potential to shine the light for those still struggling through darkness, to show them that they can find joy after such devastating loss and heartbreak. A friend of mine once said that "greif is like an endless tunnel of darkness, and sometimes it's hard to see the light". That was my inspiration for this story. I am passionate about showing my support to my friends and family affected by cancer, and I hope you can help us too!
Any and all support is greatly appreciated <3>
Lots of love,
Gabrielle x
