Stepping up for my mum, who’ll never stop stepping up for me.
56 women are diagnosed daily in Australia, but that statistic cuts a little deeper when one of those fifty-six is your own mum.
We see so many statistics and so much data on a daily basis, the numbers genuinely feel static. Completely separated and distanced from what they represent. Every number is a human life. A human that’s instantly changed after a phone call or an email from a health professional confirming the worst. And those numbers don’t account for the people outside that stat it also impacts - family, friends, colleagues, someone you know.
For those who’ve had the privilege to cross paths with my mum in any way, I know you know how incredible is. Driven, strong, caring. Can’t forget about hilarious, weird & wild (clearly heredity). I truly hit the jackpot.
Thanks to the progression of medical research and treatments, and to my mum for being the strongest woman I know, she’s been cancer free for 4 years.
For the month of August, I’ll be stepping up to raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
Stepping up in support of my mum, in support of every 7th Australian woman who will receive this same diagnosis in their lifetime, and in support of the 3,300 men & woman who lose their battle to this unfair disease every year.

Hey Charlotte my friend I'm so sorry to hear your beautiful mom was disnosed this disease years ago. She's so brave and tough just like every mom in the world and she's incredible to fight against it. Wish she stay healthy forever. Thank you for doing such an amazing work to bring the attention of people like me who didn't even realize the seriousness of breast cancer.
