Day 21.

Friday 21st Aug
Ahh, what a relief! 56km done and dusted! 🎉 I finally get to hang up the runners for a few days and give these shins some much-deserved rest. 😂 It was a tough slog, but we got there, and we got there with a few days up our sleeves. I’m feeling very proud of everyone who supported the cause, everyone who supported me, and of myself for sticking with it and hitting the goal. When I first started, I honestly didn’t think I’d be able to reach 56km with the amount of pain I was experiencing. But we adapted, kept stepping, and somehow kept finding a way forward. A massive thank you to everyone who donated, shared, encouraged me, checked in, or simply cheered me on. Without you carrying me along the way, I genuinely don’t think I would have got it done. Knowing people were behind me gave me that extra push on the days when I probably would have thrown in the towel. Woohoo! We fucking did it!! ❤️🎀 And now I can finally put the feet up for a bit. Meanwhile, there are people out there casually running marathons and half marathons... 🤣 I guess we’re all just built a little differently. 😂 56km. Done. Goal smashed. Thank you everyone. ❤️

Day 20.

Thursday 20th Aug
Did 28 minutes of interval running tonight. It was hard work at first, but I kept pushing and finished strong. 💪🔥 I can see the finish line now... I can almost touch it. 🏁 Keep on stepping. We’ve got this. ❤️👟

Day 19

Thursday 20th Aug
Another step forward. 🏃‍♂️🔥 Had a much better running session tonight, and I'm walking away feeling genuinely positive about it. Started with 2 minutes of walking, then settled into a 15-minute continuous run before finishing with some walking to cool down. The left shin is still absolutely cooked, so I'm definitely listening to the body and taking things one session at a time. But tonight felt different. The fitness is coming along, the legs are starting to cooperate, and I'm beginning to feel like running is becoming something I can actually build back into my routine. 3.42km | 18:52 | 142bpm avg HR | 5:31/km avg pace Garmin even gave it a Tempo / High Aerobic training benefit and marked the workout as Improving Fitness. 💪 It's not about being the fastest. It's about being better than I was yesterday. Keep on stepping. We've got this. 👊🔥

Day 17

Monday 17th Aug
Another quick run tonight with no gym session, just keeping the kilometres ticking over without pushing my shin too far. It was hurting and starting to swell, so I pulled the pin before it got to the point of no return. Still getting the kilometres in, still moving forward, and still keeping the challenge alive. Keep on stepping! 🏃‍♂️🔥

Day 16

Monday 17th Aug
Quick gym session, followed by a quick 2km to give the shins a bit of a rest while still putting some kilometres on the board. Sometimes it's the little wins that keep you moving forward. No need to smash yourself every day, just keep showing up, keep pushing and keep making progress. Every kilometre counts. Every step forward matters. We've got this. 💪❤️

Day 15

Saturday 15th Aug
Day 15 🏃‍♂️💥 Tonight’s run was ugly! The shins were giving me absolute hell, but we still managed to push out 2.8km. Not pretty, but every kilometre counts. 💪 That puts me at 36km down, just 20km to go! 🔥 The finish line is getting closer. Let’s bring this bloody thing home! 🙌❤️

Day 14

Saturday 15th Aug
Decided to hit the gym first thing this morning and, after a day of rest, I was feeling fighting fit! 💪 Had a great weights session followed by 3km, and it felt bloody good to be back out there and back on the challenge. 🏃‍♂️🔥 We’ve got this. One kilometre at a time. ❤️

Day 13

Thursday 13th Aug
Strategic rest night. 🛑💪 30km into the goal and already a few kilometres ahead of schedule. Tonight, I’m listening to the body and taking a well-earned pit stop. I’m feeling a little under the weather, so it’s an early night, some proper refuelling, and recovery mode activated. 12 days straight, 30km down, and plenty more to come. Tomorrow we get back at it. I’ve still got this. 😉🎀

Day 12

Wednesday 12th Aug
Day 12 complete! 💪 Over the halfway mark now. The run felt pretty damn good tonight, and I’m really happy with the 3.23km. No gym tonight. The run was enough, so it’s a recovery night and hopefully I can finally crack more than 5 hours of sleep. 😴 Although… Reacher Season 4 just dropped. So yeah, probably stuffed. 😂 30km done. 26km to go. Let’s do this. 🔥

Day 11.

Wednesday 12th Aug
Today’s win was simply showing up. I was tired, low on energy and motivation was nowhere to be found. But we got to the gym, knocked out a quick upper-body and core session, then finished with a 2km interval run. It wasn’t my best run, but it got done. We showed up. We pushed through. We keep moving forward. ❤️💪

Day 10 done!

Monday 10th Aug
Tonight was supposed to be a quick one because I was absolutely running on empty. No weights, no fancy session, just get the kilometres done and get home. 3.41 km | 22:01 | 252 calories 🔥 I even managed a little 13 km/h push at the end... mostly because there were people around and apparently my ego needed a workout too. 🤣 Another day in the books and another step towards the 56 km August goal. 💗

Day 9

Sunday 9th Aug
Day 9 💪 | 3.22 km | 20 min | 15 min continuous @ 11 km/h | Avg HR 141 | Max HR 166 | 246 kcal 🔥 Feeling good! No time for the gym today, but we got our run done. 💪 Another day, another step forward. Building consistency, getting fitter, and keeping the momentum going. We’ve got this! ❤️🏃‍♂️

Day 8

Saturday 8th Aug
Did a core workout before the run tonight, so my legs had plenty of juice left in the tank. 💪 The shins were sore, but without wanting to jinx myself, they actually felt better than they have been. 🤞 Maybe they're finally starting to realise they're going to have to get used to this punishment! 😂 Another 2.83 km in the bank tonight, including some faster running to finish. Still pushing forward, still building consistency, and still putting one foot in front of the other for a bloody good cause. Stepping Up to Breast Cancer. 🎀 Let’s keep pushing. We’ve got this. 💪🔥

Day 7.

Friday 7th Aug
Pretty happy with tonight's effort! 💪 Logged 2.7 km of interval running after the gym, and I'm feeling the progress. Every session is another brick in the foundation. It's not about being perfect, it's about showing up, putting in the work, and building habits that stick. The goal now is simple: keep pushing this distance out. One interval at a time. One kilometre at a time. Every run is making me fitter, stronger, and more confident than I was yesterday. This journey isn't about chasing quick results. It's about creating a healthier lifestyle that lasts. Let's keep the streak alive. Let's keep pushing forward. We've got this. 💙🏃‍♂️💪

Day 6

Friday 7th Aug
Day 6 complete. 💗 2.1 km in the bank after an upper body workout. I was absolutely gassed by the end, but I got it done. This challenge isn't about being perfect. It's about building consistency, creating healthy habits, and showing up even when the tank feels empty. Every kilometre is another step forward for my health and another step in support of the National Breast Cancer Foundation. One day at a time. One workout at a time. We've got this. 💪

Day 5

Thursday 6th Aug
Quick visit to the gym tonight to knock out my 2 km interval run for the challenge. No full workout, just staying committed to the plan. My goal is simple: 31 consecutive days at the gym and at least 2 km every single day. Some days I'll feel unstoppable, other days I'll just get it done. Either way, I'm showing up. Consistency beats perfection. One run, one day, one step closer. I've got this. 💪🎗️🏃

Day 4

Tuesday 4th Aug
Ran with Indy tonight, my little pocket rocket gym bro. 💪❤️ The shin is still sore, but it definitely felt better than yesterday. That's all I can ask for. Just keep moving forward, one step at a time. Progress, baby. Let's do this! Every kilometre is another step towards supporting the Breast Cancer Foundation. 🩷🏃

Day 3.

Tuesday 4th Aug
Another solid session in the books tonight. Smashed out a big upper-body workout before jumping on the treadmill to keep the 2 km challenge alive. I'm sticking with interval training for now while my shin settles down. It's not ideal, but it's the smartest way to keep building fitness without pushing it over the edge. The plan is simple: chip away at it, stay consistent, and gradually turn more of those walking intervals into running. The shin is still giving me a bit of grief, but I'm not letting it derail the journey. Every session is another step forward, even if it isn't perfect. 2.03 km completed in 14:00. Challenge ticked off. ✅ We got it done. That's what matters.

Day 2!

Sunday 2nd Aug
Managed some shin soreness tonight, so I switched to interval running instead of pushing through it. Ended up with around 10 minutes of running and 5 minutes of walking. Not every session has to be perfect. Sometimes the win is simply showing up, listening to your body, and getting it done. 💪🏃

Day 1!

Saturday 1st Aug
Jumped on the treadmill to kick off the month. It wasn't pretty, but it got done. The shin pain showed up early and stuck around for most of the run, but I'm hoping it's just part of getting my body conditioned to running again. The important thing is I didn't quit. Every journey starts somewhere, and today I set a new personal best by running 2 km without stopping. That's one more barrier knocked down. Now it's time for a quick weights session, then a shower and bed. One step at a time. We've got this. 💪🏃
