Every day in Australia, 56 people are diagnosed with breast cancer — that’s more than 20,000 people every year.

Cancer is indiscriminate. It doesn’t care who you are or how old you are.

This year, our daughter Laura, at just 29 years old, became one of those people when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

As parents, there is nothing more helpless than knowing our child is facing something like this and wanting to fix it, to take it away, and realising that the only thing we can do is offer our love and support.

So I’ve decided to get active and set myself a personal challenge to raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF), supporting world‑class breast cancer research. My hope is that continued research will lead to earlier detection, better treatments, and ultimately a future where breast cancer is a thing of the past so other families don’t have to walk this path.

I know times are tough, but if you’re able to spare a donation, no matter the size, it would mean so much. I also encourage anyone reading this to take a moment to learn more about detection and awareness, which truly can save lives:

Every donation, big or small, brings us one step closer to a future without breast cancer.

Thank you for your support.

Sunday 3rd May
Started off the month with 4kms on Friday 1st. Have to average 4kms a day to get the 120kms. I walked for 47 minutes whilst Laura had chemo which went for 7 1/2 hours. So I had it pretty easy.
