I'm now a Pink Hero

October is the month for breast cancer. 58 people a day are diagnosed with breast cancer. 

Unfortunately I’m one of those people, I found out in July after finding a lump I have breast cancer and I’m currently in the middle of my treatment. It’s tough going but for the month of October for my benefit and others I’m going to walk 58kms to raise money for much needed research. I have no family history, I had a mammogram late last year which came back clear. 

So I’m asking for two things, 1. check your boobs often, get to know yourself, what they feel like when your in the shower. That’s how I knew something wasn’t right, as soon as I felt it I knew it hadn’t been there before. And 2.if your able donate, the more research the more these Doctors can do to save lives.


Did you know that every day 58 people in Australia are diagnosed with breast cancer and 9 Australians die every day from this disease?  

I've decided to get active and set myself a challenge to raise funds for world-class breast cancer research to help National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) towards their vision of Zero Deaths from breast cancer.

Another 2km done, I’m slow going as chemo and side effects have slowed me down but I’m determined. I know have a walking pad at home as well if I’m not feeling well or weather isn’t the best.

Wednesday 1st Oct
Chemo day for me at Lake Maq private today. Round 10, 6 to go. I just got home and checked my fundraiser page and you’re all amazing people. Keep the donations coming in. Whoop whoop.

I also got a 1.63km walk in when I returned from chemo. ?

I got a phone call from Bianca at National Breast Cancer Foundation (fundraiser) congratulationing us (me & my community) for hitting my goal so quickly and she asked if I’d like to raise it to $1500. I said, more for research more donations? Sure why not.
