pink, bald and brave

By Claire eckersley

I'm now a Pink Hero

I’m shaving my head in honour of two incredible women who shaped my life with their strength, love, and courage.

My beautiful Nan fought breast cancer for ten long years before we lost her, and not a day goes by that I don’t think of her resilience and warmth. I’m also doing this for an amazing mum from my soccer family — someone I love deeply, who inspires me with her kindness, her fight, and her heart.

Did you know that every day 56 people in Australia are diagnosed with breast cancer, and 9 people lose their lives to this disease? That’s why I’ve decided to #bringbackthemullet and raise funds for world‑class breast cancer research to help the National Breast Cancer Foundation work towards their vision of Zero Deaths from breast cancer.

This shave is for my Nan, for my soccer mum, and for every family touched by breast cancer — the warriors, the survivors, and the ones we carry with us forever. Please support me and my pledge to make a difference. Every donation, big or small, brings us one step closer to stopping deaths from breast cancer. Together, we can create real change.

I will be #bringingbackthemullet on the 24th of May at 4pm at Picnic Point Park. Please come along!
