Support my challenge to swim for breast cancer!

9 people in Australia die from breast cancer every single day.

This November, I am taking part in Swim For Breast Cancer for the mothers, sisters, daughters, friends and loves ones who are impacted by this devastating disease.

I am doing this to raise funds for National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) to support vital breast cancer research to help save lives.

Tuesday 12th Nov
Monday night gym this month has been pool swimming instead of cycling class. I did an easy 1 km.

A good ocean swim day!

Sunday 10th Nov
This morning Jeannie and I went back to Coogee beach to try open water swimming again (other people like it so surely it must be okay?!!!). The morning was cold and cloudy so I was very unimpressed right from the start. Luckily the wind was 17km/h and south-southwesterly which apparently made for calm waters. My first lap was tragic as the cold water froze my brain and I couldn't co-ordinate breathing and moving my arms at the right time. Fortunately I did warm up and managed 2 laps of the eco-net! At one point, while we were standing by the barrier on our tippy toes for a rest, we saw dolphins coming up for air. What a morning!

Sunday 3rd Nov
Today Jeannie and I swam at Coogee shark net for the second time! The water was calmer but still a challenge, because of the cold cold water and waves. Kudos to all the other swimmers who make ocean swimming look so relaxing
