I’m grateful to be able to contribute to Breast Cancer awareness! My heart goes out to those who have suffered with this awful cancer. Let’s hope with more research one day there will be a cure 🌸🩷

Anne

I swam for all of those who have travelled on this cancer journey in the past and particularly two of my friends who are currently undergoing treatment. I am grateful for my good health and hope that my efforts can help eradicate this terrible disease.

Nicole

I wanted to do this fundraiser to support my friends & their families who have either lost loved ones or have loved ones fighting this awful cancer 💗

Samantha

I am swimming to give support for those who go on this journey and for myself as a breast cancer survivor... i know I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for all the research and testing and treatments that have been done over the yrs. I am so grateful...

Tracey Bell (Flea)

Suzie Clarke

Suzie-Q you are most welcome! I love you for doing this for all of us affected by breast cancer. You’re a champion! You can sleep in next week haha 😝  I am one-year post breast cancer myself (and all is going well). I detected mine early and had a lumpectomy and radiation. Very thankful I didn’t need chemo.  I truly appreciate your fundraising efforts so much. Go girl! Kylie Lane.

Courtney

I am swimming for all who have struggled with this disease. I hope that raising awareness will bring greater research to allow for better treatment and detection. To all individuals and families out there I wish you all the best with all of the challenges ahead. 💗

Hope Clempson for Sammy

Day five of this challenge I got the worst news any mother could hear. My 22 year old son was killed in a car crash in California. I had to get to him as quick as I could. Spent a week in California collecting him and his few belongings and trying to understand what had happened and how. He had only moved there two weeks earlier. He was happy, making a new start, looking forward to a bright future. Then I brought him to Hawaii where I had raised him and his siblings as a single mother. Retracing his life. Notifying people. Planning how best we can celebrate him... These have been the darkest days of my life. Finding swimming pools everywhere I went was a huge blessing. It gave me time to float and reflect and recenter myself. I think it kept me going. Now I didn't really swim proper distance while I was away. I swam laps when I could, but mostly it was sanity and keeping my body moving and alive. I just got back on Monday evening, and there were still about 5km left for me to swim of this challenge. Initially I was swimming for friends and family, past and present, who fought this disease or still are fighting it, or who just didn't make it through. But now I'm also swimming it for Sammy. He was the one who drove me to chemo and radiation in Hawaii. It was COVID and we were in lockdown, and my three younger kids rallied together to keep things going - shopping, cooking, cleaning. They just made me so proud. And now Sammy is gone, but that love is still there and always will be. I am grateful to have had this fundraiser to focus energy towards, and to be doing something to benefit others. I passed my fundraising goal, and after swimming 1.5km today, I feel pretty confident I'll get those 9kms in by Saturday. Thank you for keeping me afloat!

Thea Monks

To the brave and beautiful souls who have faced cancer and triumphed, this tribute is for you—especially for two extraordinary women who inspire me daily: my hairstylist, Kelly, and my dear friend, Melissa in Singapore. Cancer is a battle fought not only with treatments and tests but also with unwavering courage, boundless hope, and incredible strength. It’s a journey through darkness where the smallest light becomes a beacon. Kelly, you bring light to others with your creative hands and infectious positivity. Even as you faced your challenges, you continued to lift others with your warmth and laughter. Melissa, your strength goes beyond words. You’ve shown how to rise above fear and pain, embracing each day with grace and determination. You remind us that life's battles, no matter how tough, can be fought with resilience and a smile. To Kelly, Melissa, and all survivors—your courage is an inspiration, your story a testament to the power of hope. You remind us to cherish the small joys, to fight for what matters, and to live fully and deeply. Thank you for showing us what it means to be a warrior. Thank you for being you.

Emma

Laura

I'm a nurse who has cared for many beautiful souls who have fought this horrible disease, and for those who sadly were taken by it. I'm doing this swim so we can raise the funds to find better treatments, better preventions, and just better odds of winning against cancer. #f*ckcancer

Jane L

I am swimming for my gorgeous friend Nic who beat the odds with breast cancer only to now have brain cancer. Every single lap is for her. X

I am swimming for my two cousins who are breast cancer survivors and all of my patients who I diagnosed with the disease, supported them through their cancer journey and beyond.

I have been a nurse now for 47 years and have seen many women, and a couple of men go through treatment for this awful disease. Although many improvements to treatment have been developed through research, it needs to continue!

Danielle Maloney

These laps are for the beautiful women who have been diagnosed with this cruel diagnosis . I have one woman in particular in my life that is special “my godmother” and thankfully she is a survivor. 🩷

Korina

Swimming for a number of ladies diagnosed with breast cancer. Especially my Aunt who fought for a long time and the family she left behind.

Carissa

I am swimming for my dearest friend, Elysia! She was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer and she fought and was so courageous, brave and never gave up! Her 2years and 4 month battle ended in August, leaving behind her nearly 3 year old and dear husband! I had the pleasure to know her and have a special friendship with her for 25years! She was 36 when she passed away. I am swimming for her, I signed up for the 9km and I'm up to 12km so I'll try to get to 18kms this month 🩷🩷

Brooke

I'm swimming for all the gorgeous and strong women I get the please to care for everyday! I am so glad I get to be apart of the journey and care 💛

I am swimming for my best friends mum. Someone I truely aspire to be. She fought breast cancer but lost her battle exactly 3 years later. The whole time she stayed positive, and kept her faith in God…if anything it grew stronger. She really was an inspiration and still is and honestly one of the best people to ever be alive. I always ask why it had to be her, out of all the people for it to happen to, why her? Still i don’t know and don’t think i ever will. She is always missed and loved by so many people.

Kate

I am swimming for my mum, my aunties, and two dear friends—extraordinary women who have faced the fight against breast cancer. Some have won, some are still fighting, and some, heartbreakingly, are no longer with us. Their stories inspire me every day to take action, however small, to contribute to the fight against this disease. Through every lap I swim, I hope to raise awareness about breast cancer and the need for continued support, research, and education. Each stroke is a symbol of hope, resilience, and the belief that every effort counts. I like to think of each lap as one small step closer to finding a cure—a cure that could one day save the lives of those we love. This is my little way of helping, honoring these women's incredible strength, and showing that we can all do something to make a difference. Together, stroke by stroke, we can move closer to a world without breast cancer.

Gabi

I'm swimming for my grandma and for all the women in the water polo community who have been affected by breast cancer

Katrina Norwood

I am swimming in memory of my beautiful daughter, Emily. She was 30 when she was diagnosed with daughters aged two and six months. For five years she was strong and brave and finally succumbed October last year. May she rest forever in peace, may we never rest until cancer has been eradicated - hopefully in my lifetime.

Maddy Ford-Lillie

All my life I have heard stories about my Aunty Shelley. I was not lucky enough to meet her, but I think we would have got along great! I am swimming to help find a cure for other peoples aunties, mums, grandmas, sisters and daughters. This photo is my twin sister and I on my Aunties motorbike when we were 8 days old.

Kylie

Let's stay strong together. I'm swimming for all those beautiful souls that are fighting, have fought and those that fought and sadly lost the battle. True warriors all of them!!

Felicity

Every lap I swim, I think of my sponsors, who all have such generous hearts in donating to such an important cause. I think of those who are fighting hard to be with us a little longer. Please get behind me, others, family & friends and fight cancer with the money raised to put back into research. Thank you from the bottom of my heart 💓
