Swimming for a number of ladies diagnosed with breast cancer. Especially my Aunt who fought for a long time and the family she left behind.

I am swimming for my dearest friend, Elysia! She was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer and she fought and was so courageous, brave and never gave up! Her 2years and 4 month battle ended in August, leaving behind her nearly 3 year old and dear husband! I had the pleasure to know her and have a special friendship with her for 25years! She was 36 when she passed away. I am swimming for her, I signed up for the 9km and I'm up to 12km so I'll try to get to 18kms this month 🩷🩷

I'm swimming for all the gorgeous and strong women I get the please to care for everyday! I am so glad I get to be apart of the journey and care 💛

I am swimming for my best friends mum. Someone I truely aspire to be. She fought breast cancer but lost her battle exactly 3 years later. The whole time she stayed positive, and kept her faith in God…if anything it grew stronger. She really was an inspiration and still is and honestly one of the best people to ever be alive. I always ask why it had to be her, out of all the people for it to happen to, why her? Still i don’t know and don’t think i ever will. She is always missed and loved by so many people.

I am swimming for my mum, my aunties, and two dear friends—extraordinary women who have faced the fight against breast cancer. Some have won, some are still fighting, and some, heartbreakingly, are no longer with us. Their stories inspire me every day to take action, however small, to contribute to the fight against this disease. Through every lap I swim, I hope to raise awareness about breast cancer and the need for continued support, research, and education. Each stroke is a symbol of hope, resilience, and the belief that every effort counts. I like to think of each lap as one small step closer to finding a cure—a cure that could one day save the lives of those we love. This is my little way of helping, honoring these women's incredible strength, and showing that we can all do something to make a difference. Together, stroke by stroke, we can move closer to a world without breast cancer.

I am swimming in memory of my beautiful daughter, Emily. She was 30 when she was diagnosed with daughters aged two and six months. For five years she was strong and brave and finally succumbed October last year. May she rest forever in peace, may we never rest until cancer has been eradicated - hopefully in my lifetime.

All my life I have heard stories about my Aunty Shelley. I was not lucky enough to meet her, but I think we would have got along great! I am swimming to help find a cure for other peoples aunties, mums, grandmas, sisters and daughters. This photo is my twin sister and I on my Aunties motorbike when we were 8 days old.

I am swimming for all those that have had to deal with breast cancer and those familes around them. Including my Nana, my 2 great aunts, my mums 2 cousins and friends mums.

My swim this month is dedicated to my late wife Lenelle, who unfortunately could not beat her fight with breast cancer. It will be 7 years this month so doing the swim now is very relevant.

My family and I carry braca2 breast cancer genes, so I'm doing this to support for myself and family and friends who carries this genes

Cancer has left my family and friends with sadness and fear of the unknown. Having gone through breast cancer as well as bury family members who have died from cancer, the only thing I can do to contribute to helping with raising funds for cancer research is to raise awareness, in this situation, swim and raise money for every km that I swim! Please get behind me, others, family & friends and fight cancer with the money raised to put back into research. Thank you from the bottom of my heart 💓

My kids and I are swimming not only to get fitter, but especially for our Australian "Ouma" as well as close friends having gone or still going through treatment. Cancer has already taken my mom at a very young age and now affects my dad. We all love swimming and are looking forward to this challenge. Glad to have "Ouma" as part of our team, she means the world to us.

I’m swimming in support of my sister-in-law Bobbie and my niece Tammy who both survived a breast cancer diagnosis. But also for anyone that is going through, or been through, the trauma that breast cancer diagnosis and treatment brings. I watched as people close to me suffered, with tremendous courage and dignity, as they battled to survive this horrendous disease. Swimming a few laps is a cake walk in comparison.

For my sister Lindy Maree Balthazaar who fought a brave fight from 2002 to 2004 before moving on to a better place. For my dear niece Madison who lost her mother way too young. For my son Noah who adored his Aunt. For my son Tana who never met his Aunt. And for my parents, Sharon & Rod. It still breaks my heart.

HI I'm swimming for a dear friend who lost her life Sandi Tilbrook and one who has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. She has only just found out and had her first treatment very quickly. Shes not ready to tell the world yet

Four years ago today I had finished six months of chemo and just had a double mastectomy. Still had radiation coming. I’m swimming for my friends who battled til the end, and those who made it through like me, and my friends in the midst of it all right now. Too many!
