Support my challenge to swim for breast cancer!

9 people in Australia die from breast cancer every single day.

This November, I am taking part in Swim For Breast Cancer for the mothers, sisters, daughters, friends and loves ones who are impacted by this devastating disease.

I am doing this to raise funds for National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) to support vital breast cancer research to help save lives.

Please make a donation to support my challenge and let’s make a splash to save lives together!

Thank you for your support.

My Updates

19 Nov 24, Tuesday

Wednesday 20th Nov
I saw that Sara had been posting regular updates about swims since November started and thought it was such a fun way to record our journey and thoughts, which inspired me to do the same!

Today's swim was completed in Beatty Park Leisure Centre. 1km in the outdoor 50m pool, slow lane, solo swim. People occasionally overtaking me. They might have underestimated their own speed. Or that my pace might be more suited for the walking lane haha. I've noticed there is a lane dedicated to "freestyle only". Seemed like 98% of the people there were swimming freestyle. Effortlessly. It's a wonder how that seems to be the universally preferred swimming style because it feels to me like I'm flailing my arms and legs while trying to catch a breath once in a while. I've been trying to find tips and tricks to become a more confident freestyler by observing people who swim past me. It's less kicking required than I imagined, lots more arm strength.
Another thing, swimming makes me sleepy. So to sleep I will go.  Byee!
