? Please Support Our Pink Ribbon Breakfast

This October, Perfect Start Capalaba is hosting a Pink Ribbon Breakfast to support the National Breast Cancer Foundation and raise vital funds for breast cancer research.

? 1 in 7 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. That is why we are raising funds in honour of our amazing Miss Hannah, who is a survivor of breast cancer. Her story is powerful, raw, and incredibly inspiring. Please take a moment to read it below.

Pregnant and Cancer.

"Not two words you expect to hear together... But that was our story.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and I’d love to share a bit of my journey to raise awareness and funds for important cancer research for women diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

When I was 19 weeks pregnant, I got diagnosed with breast cancer.
The very next week I started chemotherapy (along with cooling cap treatment to try and save my hair). I completed 2 rounds of chemo over 6 months, with a short break in between to deliver our little girl via C-section. She was born perfect, and most importantly, completely healthy. I then went on to have breast surgery and finished off my treatment with 3 weeks of daily Radiation.

Completing my treatment while pregnant, and then as a first time mum with a tiny newborn, was one of the hardest things I've ever done, but also the thing I am most proud of.
The day we got the all clear and I was told I was cancer free was one of the best moments of my life.

My little girl Mackenzie is now nearly 3 years old, and we are both doing really well!
I don’t know how my family and I would’ve gotten through the last few years without the support of wonderful organisations like Mater Chicks in Pink, the National Breast Cancer Foundation, and all of my amazing doctors and the Mater cancer care nurses.

So if you are able, please make a donation today - it is such an important cause!"
