I memory of my mum we lost her in April 2014

We have had many of our staff and family members who have been diagnosed with breast Cancer so close to our hearts. We would like to help to find the cure and raise awareness for eveyone.

A Journey of Courage, Hope and Love 💗🎀 I will never forget the moment I learned that my dear friend had been diagnosed with breast cancer. The fear of losing her immediately kicked in, and my heart was filled with sadness and worry, But watching her journey has taught me so much about strength, courage, and hope. Despite the challenges she has faced, she continues to fight, smile, and live a beautiful and meaningful life. Her courage inspires me every day. Today, I want to turn that fear into hope and support. 💗 I am organising this event to help breast cancer patients in our community and to provide support and services they need throughout their journey. Please join me in supporting this meaningful cause. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a difference. We are hosting a morning tea in support of our lovely colleague Jenine Mathers who was diagnosed this year suddenly, like many others with this horrible disease. Jenine has spent her career supporting students, her colleagues, family and friends and it is now time for us to support her. This is a charity very close to my heart. It has been two years since the passing of my best friend and beautiful wife, Jill. There is not one day that goes by that I don’t miss her. On a personal level, January and February are especially difficult, holding memories of her birthday and our wedding anniversary. Cancer is an insidious disease that doesn’t discriminate. It’s important that you have the necessary checks to ensure you do everything you can to protect yourself from cancer and we continue the vital research to cure this disease. We caught the cancer early, and it allowed us to share many wonderful years together despite the diagnosis. To those going through the same journey as Jill did, don’t let cancer define you as a person. Jill refused to let cancer stop her from doing everything she wanted, and achieving life goals. She got her nursing degree, treated patients and finally learnt to ride a motorbike, all while undergoing treatment. I am so proud of the life she lived, and so grateful for the time we shared.

I’m hosting a breakfast for my sister to help raise money and awareness and to also give a little back to everyone who helped in my sisters journey 💕

As a woman, a sister to three women, and someone who has seen friends and extended family face breast cancer, this cause is deeply personal to me. To every woman living with breast cancer, recovering from it, or carrying the fear of a diagnosis: you are seen, you are heard, and your experience matters. Cancer can take so much—your sense of security, parts of your body, the ability to breastfeed as you had hoped, and sometimes a piece of how you once saw yourself. There can also be fear and anxiety around appointments, testing, treatment, and whether you will be treated with the dignity, respect and care you deserve. I want my voice to stand alongside those courageously fighting, those who have overcome breast cancer, and the beautiful rays of sunshine we have sadly lost

This year I am hosting for 2 of my best friends Jenny & Di, they were diagnosed with BC within the same year, it was such a challenging time for them. Our girlfriend group is one of those rare 20 plus years of women who have supported each other through life’s most challenging moments as well as life’s most beautiful. It is my honour to be hosting a garden party high tea for them this October.

Tonight, we honour every woman and man who has faced breast cancer — those who have fought, those still fighting, and those we remember with love. We celebrate the strength, courage and resilience of survivors, and remember the lives that have touched ours and been taken too soon. Together, we stand in support of the Breast Cancer Foundation and the hope for a future where no family has to experience the heartbreak of breast cancer. 🎀

To the incredible nurses, Emergency Department staff and Oncology Team at Mackay Base Hospital, From the deepest part of my heart, thank you. During some of the most difficult and vulnerable moments of my cancer journey, you have cared for me with compassion, patience, kindness and dignity. You don’t simply administer treatments, give medications, check observations or do your jobs—you care for the person lying in that bed or sitting in that treatment chair. When I have been frightened, exhausted, nauseous, in pain or simply having a difficult day, there has been a reassuring voice, a gentle hand, a smile or someone willing to go that little bit further to make things easier. To every nurse who has cared for me, every member of the Emergency Department who has helped me when I’ve needed urgent care, and my wonderful Oncology Team walking beside me through chemotherapy and treatment: thank you for being part of my journey. I believe God places people in our lives exactly when we need them, and I am incredibly grateful that He placed all of you along my path. You may see many patients every day, but please know that to those of us receiving your care, you are remembered. Your kindness matters. Your compassion matters. Your patience matters. And the work you do matters more than you may ever realise. From one very grateful patient, thank you for helping me continue running my race. May God bless each and every one of you. my beautiful mum passed from metastatic breast cancer in 2017 she was given stage 4 as soon as it was found she had breast cancer we were given 2 years with her she managed to last 3 years with me by her side she never complained of anything would have been nice to have more help but due to her being 74 we didnt get much help sorry to say no matter who gets cancer they all she have the help they need

Hi I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2024 . I am very blessed that I was diagnosed early and given treatment . I am thankful to my creator the most for giving me the health again. I am thankful to my family and friends, my team of health care providers to support me through my illness . My mother had metastatic cancer and unfortunately we couldn’t find primary. When I went through the treatment, every moment reminded me of her . I want to raise funds and help the researchers to make breast cancer to be ultimately treatable cancer . My motto is Staying positive and working to achieve the target

Feeling blessed that l To all my loved ones who have fought breast cancer l feel blessed to be able to help raise funds for further research and hope the next generation are spared this disease.

I went through breast cancer in 2022 and have now been clear for 4 years. It was a rough journey so I just want to help others on their journey and try to make it a little easier. I’ve been doing my fundraiser for the last 4 years and it’s an absolute blast. I’m doing Pink Cowgirl theme this year and I’m so excited. Let’s kick cancer butt ladies🩷🩷🩷

To my family member who this disease has taken this week, my heart is broken

I am donating because my mum is a breast cancer survivor, and I have decided to raise funds for this wonderful cause to help others facing the same journey. Twenty-four years ago, my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thanks to the generosity of people who donated to breast cancer research and support services, she received the care and treatment she needed and is still with us today. For that, I will be forever grateful. Now it’s my turn to give back. I hope that by raising funds, we can help provide hope, support, and life-saving research for others, so that more families can have the precious gift of time with the people they love.

I am doing this for the 5 woman close to me who have been affected by Breast Cancer. My Beautiful Judy is just starting her BC journey. 💖
