Supporting Breast Cancer Research — One Step and One Breakfast at a Time
Tuesday 5th AugHi all,
As part of my ongoing volunteering work, I’m taking part in Step Up to Breast Cancer through the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). Alongside the walk, I’ll be hosting a breakfast to help raise funds for vital breast cancer research, in honour of someone close to me.
This cause is deeply personal. Breast cancer is becoming increasingly common, particularly among women aged 25 to 45. While research has come a long way, so much more continues to emerge, and that means ongoing funding, awareness, and effort are essential.
For many women, identity is closely tied to their physical and emotional self. Cancer challenges all of that. From hormonal changes to the mental toll, the effects run deep, on the body, mind and soul. Watching someone you love go through it is devastating.
I’m hoping this small step. a walk, a breakfast, a fundraiser, can contribute to something much bigger. If you’re able to support in any way, it truly means the world.
Ps. I’m not the best at walking so this is a real ‘step up’ LOL. I have done a bake sale in the past for similar organisations and they’ve been super popular, a few pics of the goodies are on my page, feel free to check them out and also my insta!
