That is why I am hosting a Pink Ribbon Fundraiser event this October to raise vital funds for breast cancer research and help NBCF towards their vision of Zero Deaths from breast cancer.

57 Australians are diagnosed with Breast Cancer everyday
1 in 7 women will be diagnosed with Breast Cancer in their lifetime
9 Australians will die from Breast Cancer everyday

Everyone knows someone impacted by Breast Cancer. My mother was diagnosed at age 42 and I have had 4 close friends diagnosed in their 30s and 40s. 2 of these friends have sadly lost their lives.

Then 3 years ago in 2021, I too became one of those 57 people diagnosed everyday with Breast Cancer. Because of my family history, I was vigilant with regular checks and therefore was extremely fortunate to have an early diagnosis and successful treatment options. Lumpectomy, lymph nodes removed, 5 weeks of Radiotherapy, ovary removal and ongoing medication now means I am Cancer free with a low chance of reoccurence.
