1 in 7 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.
Research shows that those with a Mental Health Diagnosis are 30% less likely to engage in regular routine screening. At NSLHD the MHDA service have partnered with Breast Screen NSW to shine a spotlight on this and create trauma informed screening experiences to bridge this gap.Â
That is why we are hosting a Pink Ribbon Breakfast event this October and Breast Cancer Awareness Month, to raise awareness and empower MHDA staff to promote holistic health prevention as part of recovery.Â
Please support us by either joining our Pink Ribbon Breakfast event at your site across the District in the week beginning 19 October 2026
Together, we can stop deaths, educate and promote regular preventative screening from breast cancer.
