This fundraiser is deeply personal to me. I am raising money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation in memory of my beautiful mum, Julie, who sadly passed away from breast cancer in 2006, when I was 6 years old.

Losing my mum at such a young age changed my life forever. While I was only a child when she passed, her memory, her love, and the impact she had on those around her have stayed with me. This fundraiser is my way of honouring her life and helping support a cause that may one day prevent other families from experiencing the heartbreak of losing someone they love.

Breast cancer continues to affect thousands of families across Australia. Every day, around 56 Australians are diagnosed with breast cancer, and more than 3,300 people lose their lives to this disease each year. 1 in 7 Australian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.

Behind every statistic is a person — a mother, daughter, sister, partner, or friend — and a family whose lives are changed forever. My mum is one of those stories.

Funds raised will go towards the National Breast Cancer Foundation, supporting vital research into prevention, early detection, better treatments, and ultimately a future where no family has to lose someone they love to breast cancer. Thanks to decades of research, breast cancer outcomes have improved significantly, but there is still more work to be done.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, helps contribute towards this important work and brings us one step closer to a future without breast cancer.
