Support my challenge to swim for breast cancer!
9 people in Australia die from breast cancer every single day.
This November, I am taking part in Swim For Breast Cancer to raise funds for research into this hideous disease.
For those of you who know me well will know that even though my kids are great swimmers, it is not my forte, and this task is a bit daunting to say the least. But as always, I'm up for a challenge!
Please help me in my quest and make a donation - every little bit counts!
Thank you for your support.

My Updates
Day 18 - 18 November 2025
Tuesday 18th Nov 3 km run to warm up, then into the pool for another 500 metres. I only have 3 km to go! Yay me! Share
Day 16 - 16 November 2025
Tuesday 18th Nov Four and a half hours in the pool at work, came home and clocked another 500 metres. Can’t say I’m enjoying this, but I’m not giving up now……… Share
Day 15 - 15 November 2025
Saturday 15th Nov Half way through the month! 5km parkrun this morning then 500metres in the pool. I am up to 5km, so only 4 to go!!!! Share
Day 11 - 11 November 2025
Saturday 15th Nov After a 5.5km run, I managed to do 700 metres in the pool. This takes me 4.5 km - HALF WAY!!!! Share
Day 9 9th Nov
Sunday 9th Nov After a rest day yesterday, I swam another 1.1 km. That takes my total to 3.8km - only 700 metres and I’m at the half way mark! Share
Day 7 7th Nov
Sunday 9th Nov I didn’t get to swim over the last two days, but this morning I started off with 3.5km run, then finished off with a 1.1km swim, bringing my swim total to 2.7km. It is getting easier but I still have a little breather at the end of each lap. Share
Day 4
Tuesday 4th Nov I decided to measure the pool today after finding out the 25 metres I thought it was, was in fact a guesstimate!’ The pool is actually 20 metres which meant I hadn’t swam as far as I thought. So today’s challenge was to make up the difference, which I did except for 3 laps which I will catch up tomorrow. I actually swam 37 laps but recorded 30.
Day 3 - Monday 3 November 2025
Tuesday 4th Nov Rest day - upper body muscles were screaming at me!!! Share
Second day
Sunday 2nd Nov Surprisingly, my arms muscles were not sore this morning. My goal for today was to do another 300 metres, but once I started I boosted my goal and ended up doing 700 metres! My total is now 1 km. An added bonus, I met a lovely couple in the pool area who donated to the cause. Win-win today. Share
First swim.
Saturday 1st Nov Well, I have started the challenge! I must admit, I was very nervous about it. I went for a 3 km run prior so the pool would feel refreshing and not freezing- I really don’t like cold water! I am lucky enough to have a 25 metre pool in my complex and I was aiming for 2 laps for my first swim. But yay me, I managed 12. ?. I probably could have done more, but I didn’t want my arms to be sore tomorrow. ShareThank you to my Sponsors
