A Morning Tea for Pink Ribbon Day
Wednesday 13th Aug
On October 30, Retreats Tasmania is hosting a Pink Ribbon Morning Tea in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It’s an opportunity to come together—over tea, treats, and friendship—to raise awareness and funds for crucial breast cancer research here in Australia.
This event is part of the National Breast Cancer Foundation’s nationwide Pink Ribbon Breakfast campaign, inviting everyday Australians to host any gathering—morning or afternoon tea, brunch, lunch, or dinner—to contribute to life-saving breast cancer research National Breast Cancer Foundation+1.
Why October 30 (or Any Day That Suits You)?
NBCF specifically spotlights October 30 as a key date, but you're welcome to choose a day that works best for you—whether that’s earlier or later in the month National Breast Cancer Foundation. It’s flexible because every contribution, regardless of timing, directly supports progress.
Breast Cancer in Australia: The Facts That Move Us
Here’s why this matters:
- Every day, 58 Australians are diagnosed with breast cancer—about 21,000 diagnoses each year, including men nbcf.org.aubcna.org.au.
- Tragically, an average of 9 lives are lost daily to this disease—over 3,300 people annually nbcf.org.au.
- Thankfully, thanks to vital research and early detection, the 5-year survival rate has risen from 76% to around 92% in recent decades nbcf.org.au National Breast Cancer Foundation.
Why Your Gathering Can Make a Difference
NBCF doesn’t rely on government funding—it depends entirely on generous community support to drive cutting-edge breast cancer research across Australia, with the goal of one day reaching Zero Deaths from breast cancer nbcf.org.au National Breast Cancer Foundation
Every dollar makes a difference, and you do not have to attend an event to contribute. You can simply donate online to show your support.
