Knowing it exists is not enough.

Wednesday 8th Oct

Knowing it exists is not enough.

October is the Breast Cancer Awareness month, and no one should have to experience the fear, the pain, the uncertainty of what direction this disease will take.

Over 21,000 people are expected to be told that they have breast cancer in 2025, that is 58 cases per day. I don’t want to think of the mortality rate. I want to think what can be done to reduce this number. Research focusing on prevention, detection, management and treatment will help lead the fight against this disease.

Monash Health Cancer Centre provides care for more than 1.5 million residents of Southern Melbourne providing a full range of care from point of diagnosis to treatment and optimal care for patients having Cancer and with the treatment of breast cancer at Moorabbin Campus.

To those that going through treatment for breast cancer, to those that have survived, and to those who have passed, we acknowledge you by focusing on the fight not the fright.

The diagnosis of Cancer turns a life upside down and, us as team, need to remind these people that it’s okay not to be okay. That they are stronger than they realise and that we are all in this together.

A beautiful quote by Helen Keller “Nothing can be done without hope” can be a powerful reinforcement message to everyone to believe and be positive. Please donate to encompass the hope that one day research will make a real difference to those battling cancer.

Please support this worthy cause with a donation and enjoy this spooktacular morning tea.
