1 in 7 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. On the 26th of September 2024, at the age of 27, I joined the 1 in 7 and was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Over the past 12 months, I have had to complete the following interventions in order to fight this deadly disease:

• IVF embryo freezing

• Multiple scans and biopsies 

• 6 months of chemotherapy 

• Bilateral mastectomy with delayed reconstruction 

• Removal of 5 lymph nodes

• Lymphoedema compression and massage

• Ongoing physiotherapy

• Inserting a PICC line and Port-a-cath

• 12 months of immunotherapy 

I am wanting to turn lemons into lemonade and use my story to help raise vital funds for breast cancer research and help the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) towards their vision of Zero Deaths from breast cancer. Throughout my journey, I have had an incredible support system. I am hosting a Pink Ribbon Morning Tea not only to fundraise but also to celebrate the end of my cancer treatment with my nearest and dearest.
