Pink Ribbon Breakfast

Ryah and I are so excited to be hosting a Pink Ribbon Breakfast in support of breast cancer awareness and research.

Breast cancer touches the lives of so many families. In Australia, more than 20,000 people are diagnosed with breast cancer each year, including around 20,100 women. In New Zealand, around 3,700 people are diagnosed each year, with approximately 10 women receiving a breast cancer diagnosis every day.

For me, this cause is especially close to home. In 2023, my beautiful mum faced her own battle with breast cancer. Watching someone you love go through a cancer diagnosis and treatment is something that changes you forever. We are incredibly grateful that Mum is now in remission, and being able to celebrate her strength and resilience makes this cause even more meaningful to me. 💗

As an oncology nurse, I also see the effects of breast cancer every day. I see the fear that comes with a diagnosis, the strength it takes to get through treatment, the impact it has on families, and also the incredible courage, hope and resilience of the people I care for.

This breakfast is about bringing people together, raising awareness, supporting vital research and celebrating all those who have been affected by breast cancer — whether they are currently fighting, proudly in remission, supporting a loved one, or sadly remembering someone they have lost.
