I've made a pledge to SHAVE and GO PINK!
Two of my close friends were diagnosed with Breast Cancer in the last couple of years.
One of them is amongst the loveliest people I've known, a bundle of warmth and joy. She was diagnosed when already in Stage 4 but she fought bravely through the treatment and seemingly conquered it. Unfortunately, a few months later the cancer came back and we lost her in Dec 2023.
Another friend is a devoted young mother and has been fighting bravely through her treatment in the midst of other hardships. Thank goodness that she is recovering.
Having seen up close the randomness of the disease and the devastation caused by it, and the increasing numbers of women being impacted by it year on year, I believe we should do all we can as a community to find solutions.
