Support my challenge to swim for breast cancer!

9 people in Australia die from breast cancer every single day.

This November, I am taking part in Swim For Breast Cancer for the mothers, sisters, daughters, friends and loves ones who are impacted by this devastating disease.

I am doing this to raise funds for National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) to support vital breast cancer research to help save lives.

Please make a donation to support my challenge and let's make a splash to save lives together!

Thank you for your support.

Half way laps done!

Thursday 13th Nov
Today I passed another milestone - 10km of swimming in the last 10 days! This also takes me past half way for my challenge goal of 18km I’m also less than $100 from my fundraising goal thanks to the generosity of fabulous friends - looking at you Naomi, Tanya and Claire I also was reminded of a valuable business and leadership lesson this morning at the pool. I kickboard my laps. I’m not a lover of head in the water swimming. Back in Jan and Feb when I was working towards the Starlight Super Swim challenge some of my pool buddies were very curious to learn what I was up to. That has translated into having one of them join me for laps with her kickboard and fins for the first time this morning. And another having a try and vowing to get herself some fins before tomorrow morning! And they’ve both agreed to join me in a team for Starlight challenge in Feb next year. Watch out for the Scarborough Mermaids ???? launching Feb ‘26 What did this teach me? Commit to your goal Keep showing up Be enthusiastic Welcome curiosity from others Encourage them to join you Be patient and over time you never know who will be on board When you take the lead, the right people will want to join you! It really can be that simple

Cracked the 1/3 of total distance mark

Monday 10th Nov
Such a beautiful morning and with no where to rush off to I kept swimming till I got to 2.5km today So appreciate the support so far. You can cheer me on and support breast cancer research here https://fundraise.nbcf.org.au/s/212752/220853

Finally got my cap!

Thursday 6th Nov
Great to see this arrive in the post yesterday. As I technically kickboard my laps I’ll rarely use my cap but I still loved seeing it in my letter box. 2.2km this morning ing despite the howling cold wind and busy pool ????

First swim logged!

Monday 3rd Nov
Early start after Pilates session. Frosty wind. Gorgeous sunshine. 1.3km logged of 18km
