9 people in Australia die from breast cancer every single day.
This November, I am taking part in Swim For Breast Cancer for the mothers, sisters, daughters, friends and loves ones who are impacted by this devastating disease.
I am doing this to raise funds for National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) to support vital breast cancer research to help save lives.

Why I'm swimming for cancer research
Tuesday 29th OctThis November I'll be swimming 9 km to raise money for breast cancer research.
This is a very personal cause. For me, October 26, 2024 marks exactly three years of being cancer-free. I lost my beautiful mum Irena to metastatic breast cancer 21 years ago. Treatments for breast cancer have come such a long way in the last two decades, thanks in no small part to dedicated and persistent researchers.
I started swimming regularly after my diagnosis, and I've learned to love it, although I'm not very fast and nor do I have great technique. If you'd like to join our small team 'The Leafy Seadragons' together with Fleur Zani, let me know and I'll send you our joining link!
You can expect to see updates here as I start ticking off the kilometres, as well as awareness raising information. Early detection saves lives.
