Pink Ribbon Breakfast

This year, I am hosting a Pink Ribbon Breakfast, well Afternoon Tea actually.  An invite will be sent soon so you can have fun with us & hopefully help me to raise much needed funds for Breast Cancer Research & Services.  I am doing this not only because I want to make a real difference to Australians affected by breast cancer but this year I have experienced first hand the difficult road 1 in 6 women will face in their life.  I was diagnosed in January & have undergone various treatments (still am).  I had no idea how many hurdles people have to face to gain access to treatment options in a timely manner, especially for those in rural areas.  All donations made to this page will help do exactly that. 

The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) is Australia's leading not-for-profit organisation funding world-class breast cancer research towards a vision of Zero Deaths from breast cancer.

I believe world-class research is the best way to prevent deaths from breast cancer and can improve how breast cancer is diagnosed, managed, and treated.

Hi again everyone, just had an e.ail from Pink Ribbon & apparently any donations no matter how small, made until 11.59pm tonight will put us in a drawer for a $400 hair straightener/styler.  If we won this I will put all new donors names into a hat & draw a winner.   Feel free to share the page or donate .  Cheers Lin

After the final Event

Monday 16th Oct
Just an update after the two main events held being Hair Raising Event & Fun & Games Event.
Hair Raising Event raised $1932 thank you to the 66 people attending this, fantastic job.
Fun & Games Event raised  $ 702.35 with 20 people attending - again brilliant job, thanks to all.
A huge thank you to all the businesses that donated prizes for raffles valued at over $4000  these prizes helped us raise in total from raffles $1017  there were many winners & certainly grinners. I will do a post over next few days naming all those wonderful sponsors.
So if we add the amount already donated on line the total raised so far is $5501.35.  Donations can still be made until the end of the month so feel free to share the links.
The $'s raised from the events won't show up for a few days until the money is banked.  
Again thank you all for your contributions & a special thanks to my Brains Trust couldn't of done it without you Lynda, Lyn, Vicki, Deidre & Denise & also my hair raising partner Rosie.  You are all legends.

Hi everyone, thought I'd better send out a reminder so looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday. 2pm start.  Please be aware parking is limited in my Court, you might have to walk a little way, lots of driveways, great idea to car pool if you can.
Remember to bring coins & notes for games & raffles, there's also the secret auction. $5 entry for your afternoon tea & chance to win lucky door prize valued at $300. Lots of prizes & give-aways.  Best Dressed Bra, Best Dressed Pink person.  Donation tin available also Q code & link fir electronic donations.  Let's let our hair down, win heaps, laugh lots & more importantly raise money for a fantastic cause.  See you all on Saturday 

Hair Raising Event Yesterday 7th October

Sunday 8th Oct
Well as you can see from the photos, a great day was had. Probably about 40 people from the Lifestyle Village I used to live in turned up to see myself & my ex next-door  neighbour gallantly face the shears.  A huge thank k you to Sharron from Oceanside Hair & Beauty for donating her tine & two vouchers to add to the Raffle next week.  The onlookers were super generous over $700 alone for raffle tickets was donated.  The donation tin was in demand too, wo t know until the end if next week but my guess would be over $2000 in there.  Thank you to everyone.  Still to come is our main event next week on the 14th with 30 odd special guests invited to fun, frolic & play.  Of course more raffle tickets & hopefully more donations.  Sticking my head out, think.we might make $4500 by the end of the month.  Please feel free to share this page so others that were not invited may also get the chance to support Breast Cancer Research.  Once again thank you, I'm very humbled & quite like my new hair do.

A huge thank you to an 80 odd year young BC survivor for rhe donation of the antique carpet loom which has now been sold for $500 which will be added to our tally at the end of October.  What a wonderful gesture & a very lucky bargain buy for the new owner.  Hair Raising tomorrow,  feeling a tad nervous bit excited too.  More pics to follow

Well the first of 2 fund raising activities will be happening this Saturday 7th October.  This is the Hair Raising event where myself & ex next door neighbour Rosie are heading for a headshave with about 40 onlookers cheering us on & hopefully digging deep into their pockets for donations & raffle tickets.  The following Saturday 30 or so of us are getting together for arvo tea, fun & frivolity.  We've had about $4000 worth of raffle prizes.  Going to be some massive winners.  We are almost at our latest target of $2000.  Come on dig deep would love to double that.  Donate & I'll post pictures of both events.  Wonder what I'll look like with a mowhawk.  Have a great week everyone. The Event of the Year is coming together

Hi everyone, to say I'm amazed at the generosity of you all is an understatement. We have yet again surpassed the target.  Some of the Hell Raisers met to start to put together our Event of the Year.  Its going to be a.very fun filled afternoon with lots of games, challenges, auctions, raffles etc we have already received some fantastic prizes from our donors, quite a few worth over a $100. The Afternoontea will be by invitation only & places will be limited, invitations will go out in the very near future. There is also another fun challenge being organised that I'm sure will gain lots of support, keep watching this page for more info as it becomes available.
Meanwhile, knowing things are very tight for many of us at the moment, if you can't afford to dig into your pocket for a donation how about sine if these ideas - donate a plant or some delicious delicacies that can be auctioned on the day, dig deep in your cupboards, is there something there that no longer brings you joy - how about sell it on marketplace & donate the sale amount. Do you know someone in business that might be prepared to make a donation of goods or vouchers.  I'm sure there's lots of other ideas.  Remember the money goes to Research, the potential answer to lowering or eliminating deaths from breast cancer and certainly lowering the 1 in 6 women who will be diagnosed sometime on their lives with breast cancer.  Once again thank you all very much, lets be the change that can make a difference.  Feel free to contact me for any reason.  Cheers Lin
