I have pledged to GO PINK between 1 June 2026 and 30 June 2026.
Support me to GO PINK!
Did you know that every day 56 people in Australia are diagnosed with breast cancer and 9 people die from this disease?
This June, I've made a pledge to WEAR IT, SHAVE IT or COLOUR IT and raise funds for world-class breast cancer research to help NBCF towards their vision of Zero Deaths from breast cancer.
Please support my GO PINK pledge to save lives and make a difference.
Together, let's make Zero Deaths from breast cancer possible.

Go Pink This June: My Breast Cancer Journey (Featuring a Very Questionable Hair Colour Choice)
Friday 8th MayIf you had told me a year ago that I’d voluntarily dye my hair pink, spend way too much time discussing veins and side effects, and know the opening hours of the oncology ward better than my local café… I probably would’ve laughed at you.
And yet, here we are.
This June, I’m going pink to raise money for breast cancer research — partly because it’s a great cause, and partly because after everything my hair has already been through, it deserves a little personality.
For those who haven’t been following my “unexpected life plot twist,” I was diagnosed with HER2-positive breast cancer. Since then, life has become a whirlwind of scans, surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation, infusions, blood tests, and enough hospital parking fees to fund a small tropical holiday.
The glamorous side of cancer treatment is wildly under-advertised.
The journey hasn’t exactly been easy, but if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that humour helps. Sometimes you laugh because it’s funny, and sometimes you laugh because otherwise you might scream into a pillow while eating dry crackers at 2am thanks to steroid-induced insomnia.
So far I’ve:
- Lost my hair
- Become emotionally attached to comfortable bras
- Had more needles than a dartboard
- Learned that “targeted therapy” sounds much cooler than it feels
- Waited in enough medical waiting rooms to qualify as staff
But the biggest thing I’ve gained is perspective.
Breast cancer research changes lives. The treatments I’m receiving today exist because people before me raised money, participated in research, and refused to give up hope. Because of research, survival rates continue to improve, treatments become more targeted, and patients like me get more time, more options, and more hope.
That’s why I’m joining the Go Pink campaign this June.
And yes — the new hair growth is getting dyed pink.
After months of looking like a baby bird with commitment issues, I finally have enough hair to colour. It may only be a few centimetres long, but it’s coming in strong… and honestly, if my hair can survive chemo, it deserves its own celebration.
So this June, I’ll be rocking pink hair proudly to help raise funds for breast cancer research and support everyone currently fighting this disease.
Whether you donate, share this post, cheer me on, or simply send good vibes — thank you. Every bit of support means more than you know.
Also, if the pink hair goes terribly wrong, please remember this was all for charity.
Let’s turn June pink 💗
