Let's aim for zero deaths from breast cancer...

In late 2023, my Mum (Noeline Petrass) asked if she could come over to my house for a visit and I immediately had a gut feeling that something was wrong. I don't know how I knew, but as soon as she walked in, I blurted out, "You've got breast cancer". And sadly, I was right. 

Mum's journey has been fairly smooth - a lumpectomy, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, hormone treatment and now life-long testing and treatments to counteract the affects of the cancer medication. She has been incredibly lucky thus far, but without a doubt the experience has been life-changing. 

What has surprised me the most though, is that when I talk to people it's rare to find someone who hasn't been touched by the "big C", especially breast cancer. This is why I think it's important to raise money and awareness to support this cause. 1 in 7 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.
