My Squat Challenge for breast cancer research

56 Australians will be diagnosed with breast cancer today and a further 9 will die. I want to make a difference to the lives of those 56 Australians impacted by the disease - that is why I am taking on the Squat Challenge to raise vital funds for world-class breast cancer research. But I need your help.

Please support my squat challenge to save lives and make a difference.

Every donation, big or small, will get me closer to reaching my goal and helping the National Breast Cancer Foundation end deaths from breast cancer.

The Power of Support ❤️

Tuesday 10th Mar
Ten days into this challenge and something has really stood out to me… I’m never doing these squats alone. Every single day there have been people around me jumping in, cheering me on, or dropping down to do the squats right beside me. Tonight was no different — nothing fancy, just 56 quick squats after dinner, squeezed in before the chaos of clean-up duties and homework. But they got done. And honestly, that’s the magic of this challenge. What started as a personal commitment has quickly become something shared with the people around me. Friends, family and my crew keep stepping up to join in. It shows just how important it is to keep the message going and keep talking about why we’re doing this. The squats might only take a few minutes, but the conversations, the awareness and the support behind them mean so much more. Breast cancer touches so many lives, and every squat is a small reminder that we’re standing together, raising awareness and supporting the incredible work being done to fund research and help those affected.

My Nonna Clotilde

Wednesday 4th Mar
This is my Nonna Clotilde. This photo was taken on 16 April 1978, at my parents wedding. Just a few months later, on 30 September 1978, she sadly lost her battle with breast cancer at a young age of 47. From all the beautiful stories shared about her, Nonna Clotilde was a woman who always put her family first. She loved nothing more than a full table, welcoming friends as if they were family and sharing meals filled with love and laughter. She had the most joyful spirit and was always smiling. She married the love of her life, my Nonno Armando, and together they had seven children. Throughout her long fight with cancer, she never felt sorry for herself and she simply focused on living and staying strong for those she loved. She was truly a beautiful soul. Although I never had the chance to meet her, her memory has always been kept alive through my mum and our family. I truly believe she has been our guardian angel, watching over us every step of the way. 🤍 Her strength is the reason I’m taking on this Squat Challenge for Breast Cancer. I’m doing it in her honour, and for the 56 Australians diagnosed every single day.

Day 3 Squats completed with my boys

Tuesday 3rd Mar
Day 3 squats complete ✔️ Tonight I had my boys by my side, Rod, Josh and little Leo, who smashed out the squats with me and have pledged to keep doing them every day. Thank you so much to my family and friends for your ongoing support throughout this challenge.

Day 2 - Squatting completed with the C-Life Crew

Monday 2nd Mar
Thank you to my gorgeous gym buddies for joining me in getting 56 squats this morning as our pre-workout before we smashed out our usual Monday Morning Madness workout.

Squatting my way through March for Breast Cancer

Sunday 1st Mar

This year I’m doing the Squat Challenge for Breast Cancer because it’s deeply personal to me.

I turned 47 this year which is the same age my beautiful Nonna Clotilde was when she lost her life to breast cancer. That number has sat heavy on my heart. It’s a reminder of how precious life is and how important awareness, research and support truly are.

I’ve also watched close friends face breast cancer with incredible strength and courage and I’ve been lucky enough to see them win their fight. Seeing both the heartbreak and the triumph makes this cause even more meaningful.

So if all I have to do is squat each day to raise awareness and funds to support research, prevention and those going through treatment… then why wouldn’t I?

Every squat is for my Nonna.
Every squat is for my friends.
Every squat is for the women and families still fighting. 💗
