My Squat Challenge for breast cancer research

56 Australians will be diagnosed with breast cancer today and a further 9 will die. I’m taking on the Squat Challenge this March to help change that by raising funds for life-saving breast cancer research.

This cause is personal for me. In 2021, I lost my Mum, Karolina Smith, to cancer. While it wasn’t breast cancer, losing her showed me just how devastating this disease is for families. If doing something as simple (and uncomfortable) as squats to raise some money that could potentially help spare other families that pain, then it’s absolutely worth it.

I’ve set myself a target of 100 squats every day in March — which, if you know me, is ambitious at best 😅 I’m not exactly a natural-born squat enthusiast, so this month is likely to involve a fair bit of soreness, questionable technique, and creative ways of lowering myself onto chairs. But every rep is for a great cause.
