My Name is Eowyn, Owy for short, I am 44 years old, and I am a single mother with 2 young children, Elijah, 10 years old, and Azalija, 5 years old. Last July, the day before my Birthday, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. My family was affected by breast cancer in the past when my grandmother died of Breast cancer the day before I was born.

I have been fighting this disease for a year now, on the 15^th of August I complete my treatments with my last immunotherapy and on the 20^th, I have my port removed. I am so looking forward to that day. I’ve had a fantastic result, a full pathological result and I’m told there is less than 5% or reoccurrence from my result.

The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF), Australia's leading not-for-profit organization funding world-class breast cancer research towards a vision of Zero Deaths from breast cancer. I'm on several Facebook groups for breast cancer and see many women gain their wings from this disease, some have young children, and it breaks my heart. As a breast cancer survivor, I live with a fear of my cancer coming back, even with my great outcome.

Last year I held a Pink Ribbon Morning tea/fundraiser event, and I raised over $4200 to this cause. The greatest contribution to this amount was the raffle that was possible with donations from local businesses. The raffle alone raised close to $2K!
