I'M SWIMMING FOR My Mum
When I was just five years old, my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was too young to fully understand what she was going through, but I grew up knowing that she had fought an incredible battle. She faced cancer with strength and courage, and thankfully, she survived.
Her survival shaped my entire life. I often think about how different my life would have been if she hadn't survived those early years. Because she did, I had the privilege of growing up with my mum, sharing countless memories and experiencing life with her.
Sadly, almost 30 years later, cancer returned. Despite everything she had already overcome, she lost her battle with cancer.
This November is particularly meaningful to me. It is my mum's birth month, and this year marks 10 years since she passed away.
That is why I’m swimming 18 km throughout November in memory of my mum, in celebration of her life, and in support of research that I hope will give more families the chance to have many more years together.

This November, I am taking part in Swim For Breast Cancer for the mothers, sisters, daughters, friends and loves ones who are impacted by this devastating disease.
I am doing this to raise funds for National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) to support vital breast cancer research to help save lives.
