20km for 20 years
9 people in Australia die from breast cancer every single day.
This November, I am taking part in Swim For Breast Cancer for the mothers, sisters, daughters, friends and loves ones who are impacted by this devastating disease. Â
I am doing this to raise funds for National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) to support vital breast cancer research to help save lives. More importantly I am swimming in the memory of a gorgeous lady we lost 20 years ago this year. Jan, I am swimming 20km's for 20 years of life without you. It's also a little bit of a FU to BC from me! 12 years clear as of this month. It's something that never truely leaves us, with lingering side effects and remnants of the treatment regime, BUT due to incredible fundraising efforts from legends like the NBCF we have life saving treatments available to keep up loving life, making memories and sharing laughs with our loved ones.Â
