Support me to GO PINK! Support me and other women with Breast Cancer through funding research that will help change their lives through their diagnosis and treatment journey.

Did you know that every day 58 people in Australia are diagnosed with breast cancer and 9 people die from this disease?

This year in February I was diagnosed with breast cancer and have started the long journey of treatment to overcome this cancer!

This June, I've made a pledge to WEAR IT, SHAVE IT or COLOUR IT and raise funds for world-class breast cancer research to help NBCF towards their vision of Zero Deaths from breast cancer.

Please support my GO PINK pledge to save lives and make a difference.

My birthday is in June and this year my wish is not for gifts but for friends and family to please donate to this very important cause.

Together, let's make Zero Deaths from breast cancer possible.

My Updates

Update on my GO PINK 2025 Pledge and Fundraiser

Thursday 12th Jun
I'd like to take this opportunity to give you another update as we are almost halfway through June.

So 2025 has not been the BREAST year of my life, having been diagnosed with breast cancer back in February. In order to look for the silver linings and find positives and hope in a difficult and unpleasant situation, I decided to get involved in this fundraiser and help raise awareness of how crucial funding is to help continue the important role medical research plays in the lives of those experiencing breast cancer.

Thank you so much to each and everyone of you and for your kind donations for my fundraiser, it really means so much to me. I know now firsthand how important medical research is and how powerful it is in finding the best treatments for the different types of breast cancer. It also helps to find the right mix of immunotherapy and drug therapy that gives patients the best outcomes and rates of survival.

I made the pledge to wear PINK during the month of June to help raise awareness and funds to support breast cancer research. I have been trying to wear pink as much as I can and today 12/6/25 at my third cycle of chemotherapy I was in pink from head to toe.

So far I am tolerating the chemotherapy as best I can. I have lost my hair and I have experienced many of the unpleasant side effects that are the norm with the chemo and drug therapy. I'm searching for the glimmers and silver linings each day to help get through this challenge 2025 has thrown at me.

I would like to broaden my awareness raising to extending a friendly reminder to all my female friends and family, that if you haven't had a mammogram and are due, please go get one. If you find any lump or changes in your breasts go see your GP. If you are told by them you are too young for a mammogram, please persist in getting a referral, you know your body best and if you have a concern or gut feeling about it, you are probably right. Be your own best advocate for your health. If it means getting a second opinion, do that, or if it means having a slightly difficult conversation with your doctor do it, it is worth it in the long run and early detection is far better than finding out later down the track.

If you haven't yet had a chance to donate or you know of any friends or relatives that might be in the position to donate please feel free to share my page and link to my fundraiser. I would be ever so grateful. Thanking you all again for being awesome supporters and I'm feeling so lucky to have you show your care and support so generously.
Warm wishes,
Monique :)

My deepest thanks for all your donations!

Tuesday 29th Apr
I am ever so grateful for the generous donations from my dear friends and family. Your donations mean so much to me.

At many of my specialist appointments the doctors have told me I am lucky to be going through this now, the amount of research that goes into breast cancer has drastically changed my path and many women before me, in giving us the best treatments that give the best outcomes. 20 years ago if I had the same diagnosis my prospects would not have been as favourable as they now are, due to the research that is constantly being conducted for breast cancer. This is the major reason why I wanted to help raise awareness and also to continue to help fund research to help women like me get the best treatments and outcomes during their breast cancer journey. Many thanks to you all for helping me reach my goal. It is appreciated greatly!

I write this update the night before my first chemotherapy cycle, with much apprehension and nerves about what lies ahead. Your words of support and encouragement you have left for me with your donations, will help me get through the challenges I need to face as part of the treatment process to fight this cancer, so thank you so much,
Monique xx
