THIS ONES FOR MAIMA

I’m doing this to honour my beautiful mum - Maima Lavelua who lost her battle in 2018. 

13 years battling cancer. It all started with Breast Cancer then Ovarian Cancer. Then it started slowly spreading to her Lungs, Liver and then her Brain. 

My sweet Mum was an inspiration to all that knew her, all through her journey. It was one tough of a journey but I’m so grateful for those extra 14 years I got to spend with Mum since she was first diagnosed with Breast Cancer. So this challenge is also for those that have to watch their loved ones suffer because Cancer doesn’t just happen to them, it happens to the whole family.  

I know finding spare money to donate can be hard especially during this pandemic. So even if you just read about Breast Cancer and educate yourself a little bit about it or you can reach out to someone you know that is battling with cancer and check on them! 

I’m sooo not fit but I’m going to do this for my beautiful Mum. I'm getting active and setting myself a challenge to raise money for NBCF and world-class breast cancer research. I’ve pledged to walk/run a total of 500km in October to try and raise $500.

I believe research is the best way to prevent deaths, and improve how breast cancer is diagnosed, managed and treated.
