FIRST, A BIT FROM ME: yet again cancer shows its ugly face within my family and friends. Cancer of different forms have taken those close to me including my mum. I can't help those affected day to day, but I can show my support and love with this fundraiser. I will cut ALL of my hair off. I want to raise money to cover the cost of creating a wig from my donated hair, (they wont mind the greys right?) and add to a great cause. Every dollar helps. I've set the goal of 1K, but will shave it all off regardless of how much is donated. The big chop will be done 20 June 2026. I'll do a live video (with help from hubby)
SOME INFO FROM THE CHARITY: Did you know that every day 56 people in Australia are diagnosed with breast cancer and 9 people in Australia die every day from this disease?
I've decided to cut my hair and raise funds for world-class breast cancer research to help National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) towards their vision of Zero Deaths from breast cancer.

You're amazing! I am way too scared to do this but will happily donate in memory of my best school friend Niki. Taken age 39 in 2011. I still think of her courage, strength & spirit which refused to be broken through her jarringly short sharp journey with an aggressive breast cancer. I still miss her hugs & her laugh & her cheekiness. I look at her grandchildren she never met, and know she'd have been a great nanna, and think its not fair that they never got to enjoy her. I look at her grown up children who she would be so damn proud of. She flies high, but close by, always.
